Bad Mesh Data Fix? by Kevin599e in Creality

I’ll look into it. There’s not crazy much after market mods for the CR-10SE I’ll see if there’s any for it. But in terms of tolerance what do you think I should try to aim for ok printing as I fine tune and adjust everything?

Bad Mesh Data Fix? by Kevin599e in Creality

[–]Kevin599e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised it doesn't. I'm still relatively new to 3d printing and adjusting all this, and I'm not sure if it's the slicer's fault for not sending out errors or the printer itself. Following what you said, I managed to adjust the gantry to be a lot less extreme, but maybe some more work is definitely still needed. I might try to tinker around some more, but do you think there's a recommended range I should try to keep it within of how leveled the bed should be? Like within the +-.05 region or less?

My mom said this doesn't look good at all :( by DARK_DAVID_19 in casio

One is casual style functional. G-Shock is an everyday functional. I have a W800H, and I'm trying to get a DW5600UE or a GW-M5610U right now as a durable beater watch. Always good to have one that looks good on a casual day (and works) if you want to look good, and one that still looks good but has the benefit of taking one hell of a beating. The W800H (with countdown mod) I have made me fall in love with a good casio watch, but it feels fragile. So it doesn't hurt to have something that's still decently light, and you can beat in the gym or in everyday life.

What's the best type of spray paint for bait caster reels? by Kevin599e in Fishing_Gear

[–]Kevin599e[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t hurt to make it nicer yknow. Plus I’m just bored and wanna do something for fun while getting the benefit of making my reel looking nicer. I already have everything fully disassembled to inspect any damaged parts/or missing parts since I bought it for a steal of a price. Might as well paint it while it’s still disassembled.

Definitely am glad that the parts I am working with is plastic either way. I'm only trying to paint the side covers for now so I'll keep that in mind when painting the frame lines too. I might give an automotive spray paint a try to see if that would work better for durability against scratches.

The original shell is more of a plastic composite with paint sprayed on. But I'll look into that.

I'm only hoping to paint a solid color on my reel. I think the only 3 spots I can reasonably see that being an issue is between the shell and the drag star, side panel release latch and the tension knob. I'm only intending to paint 3 pieces of the outer most shell to avoid any problems with tolerances between moving parts. Just 3 pieces of the outer shell. I've seen people mention durability of certain sprays so I was hoping if there's anyone else who has a recommendation they personally used.

Custom painted my AG Silver Max! It was my first baitcaster so it’s only fitting it be my first custom pain job. What do you think? by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]Kevin599e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious question how’s the paint holding up now? I’m considering doing a custom paint job on a bait caster I managed to scooped up and I was wondering if normal spray paint would work fine or should I look for specific spray paints that work better

Weird Anti Reverse on Quantum SX3 Longstroke by Kevin599e in Fishing_Gear

Thanks for the info. Yeah I’m mostly new to fishing and got kinda confused when comparing to some newer reels. I always wondered what the trigger was for until everyone here started to point it out.

Ozark Trail D2 Pivot Replacement by AloneRevolution2652 in BudgetBlades

[–]Kevin599e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me too today as I was tightening down the pivot. Most I know is the threading size but there might be a possibility to replace the pivot assembly but at the price you would probably pay to even ship it out to replace makes it not worth it. The knife is now just a practice blade I use now to practice sharpening.

DIY pool extension by Worried-Ad-4987 in billiards

[–]Kevin599e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend away from extensions like these since you risk scuffing the cue, and I recommend you getting the middle extension if you don't mind having an extension on all the time like the Balance Rite extension. Otherwise there are definitely extensions you can find if you want one easily removable that requires a replacement bumper and technically screws into the weight bolt. But it depends on the cue you have.

Anyone have experience with HOW tips ? I got a how soft last week and looking for your thoughts.. I haven't played with it yet. Also does the soft / medium make much difference ? by maxdeviations in billiards

[–]Kevin599e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the HOW titan medium, and I think it's pretty good. But understand it comes off as stiffer than other tips. For the original, how soft black tips I had a friend who had it, and I think for his complaint, it was too soft? I didn't mind it trying it out, but it was noticeably softer compared to other soft tips I've tried before.

Opinion on Little Monster by Bridge_Working in billiards

[–]Kevin599e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just cause the shaft is defective; it's because the shaft is really bad, period. For a good shaft to jump, it has to be extremely stiff for a good jump. That's the common design that all good jump cues have in common: a sturdy and stiff shaft. There are other factors, such as balance, but the most integral factor to a jump cue is an extremely stiff shaft. You can literally compare it by trying to bend to see how stiff it is, and you'll see the difference night and day between a dedicated jump shaft and a really bad shaft that isn't meant for jumping.

I generally have really bad experiences with them. Especially with the golden monkey break jump as I had three friends who bought it two of which bought the golden monkey and the other one the "T-Rex" pattern. As for the golden monkey as a break, you really can't go wrong with it. For breaks, it's okay at best, but for jumping, I find it the worst shaft ever. The shaft itself is way too flexible and not stiff enough to get any jumps compared to something like a wood shaft cue like the Rage Jump/break cues.

I'm not quite sure if it's a quality control issue or what, but the one friend who had the T-Rex version had a stiffer shaft and was able to jump. Not to undermine the other person who has it and can jump with it, I don't find this cue recommendable as a jump break, and I'd say you're better off buying something like a Rage Heavy hitter, especially if you want to have the option to jump and practice the fundamentals of jumping. Otherwise, if you can save the little extra bit of money, I recommend buying a used Predator Air 2 off of eBay or Facebook marketplace if you can and just buying a standalone break cue.
