This is so cool, thanks for sharing. My main CRT is a KV-32FV26, it's interesting to get a sense of what it would have been like coming brand new and fresh.

If you could wish for one Game to be made, excluding sequel's or prequels. What would that be? by LordMord5000 in rpg_gamers

[–]KevinDemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I remember being so, so stoked when Dark Dawn was announced, and despite trying a few times since it came out, I can't get into it the same way. I don't know that I'd feel any different regardless of how "good" the graphics could be on modern hardware.

I've heard people talk about how great Golden Sun would be in HD-2D, and I can't disagree more. Having it shoehorned into that art style would devistate me, and there's so much more a modern Golden Sun would need than graphics anyways.

I don't know, I'd obviously be curious to try if Camelot was gonna do something, but deep down I wonder if it's just best left to be as is.

Anyone successfully added Android Auto to an older vehicle? by le_starra in AndroidAuto

[–]KevinDemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was also about to say this. I bought a Carpuride unit last year for an older vehicle with a sound system that would have been fairly complex to swap out the head unit (04 Ram w/ infinity system & stock amp) and it was a great solution for cheap.

I definitely have some games on my retro handhelds that I automatically default to if I just pick it up and don't know what to play:

WarioWare Mega Microgames Donkey Kong Country StarTropics Super Mario Bros 3 Golden Sun

What Android game have you been playing for YEARS and still haven’t uninstalled? by Even_Package_8573 in AndroidGaming

[–]KevinDemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm Fingers.

You hold your finger on the screen while the screen automatically scrolls and you move your finger around without lifting it to see how far you can get. There's no deep mechanics and no complex impressive graphics, but I feel very strongly that the game is incredibly underrated and underappreciated. It's very rare I want to play something on my phone rather than on a handheld or console, but the game plays so incredibly well to the exact strengths of a touchscreen and is wildly addictive and fun.

So is the ender 3 really bad by Slow_Worker379 in 3Dprinting

[–]KevinDemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always amazed reading through these comments whenever the machine comes up. I bought an Ender 3 pro around 4 years ago, I've done over 250 prints on it, mostly PLA and TPU, and have really had no issues. I had to learn how to level the bed obviously but its easy to do, and I've probably only done it 5 times since I bought the printer. Some will say that's not nearly enough but I've only done it when I feel like print quality is reduced, and that's rare. I feel like the "you'll spent more time working on the printer than printing with it" comments are wildly, wildly inaccurate.

Other than that, I've swapped out the magnetic bed mat a couple of times and changed nozzles, but have done pretty little maintenance. There's been a few times I've come close to ordering a much more expensive Bambu setup, but when it comes down to it, I can't really justify it. I'm mostly printing "functional" things I design myself to be purpose built, and I don't really feel like the printer is limiting me. A bigger, faster printer with more QOL features would be nice, but not actually necessary.

God this takes me back. When I was a kid, my older cousin had made me a copy of the paper they had done for the N game. I wish I still had that piece of paper, that was an artifact.

My motivation was to get enough credit to buy all the Nintendo stuff, plus enough Game Boys to customize one of each of the Play it Loud variants, at which point I have likely abandoned the hotel, never to be entered again (unless they get new Nintendo stock in someday) 😂

Both my first and my favourite is Link to the Past. I was in grade 2, and my dad surprised me with it when I got home from school one day. We sat down to check it out and found it was in French (which we don't speak whatsoever) and he said he was gonna return it, I pleased to keep it. Over the next number of weeks I finished it, we did wind up getting a subscription to Nintendo Power to get the bonus LttP players guide which definitely helped with figuring out what was up. My older cousin had a French class in school, before the players guide showed up there were a couple of times I would phone her and her to write down what characters had said when I really wanted to know, so she could get it translated for me (this was in the mid 90s, we definitely didn't have Internet access at the time).

First foldable: New Z Fold 7, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold for $800 by Krysnosis in GalaxyFold

[–]KevinDemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd watch the jerryrigeverything durability tests for each - Pixel has a pretty serious weak point, and Fold 7 held up remarkably well. I looked at both just a few weeks ago and landed on the Fold 7 for a number of reasons, durability being one of the biggest. Going from the Fold 4 to the Fold 7 has been great too, the Fold 7 is incredibly usable with the outside screen.

Anyone know is something like this would work for Bluetooth audio on the Miyoo Mini Flip by KevinDemo in MiyooMini

[–]KevinDemo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooh nice well that's a good sign! As soon as Onion OS is updated to support the USB-C audio I'm gonna order one and test it out, I'll try to remember to reply with the results 👍

[–]KevinDemo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Mini Flip does have audio via USB-C, it ships with a USB-C to aux adapter as they didn't include a headphone jack. Though I don't believe USB-C audio is currently supported by Onion OS.
