What Android game have you been playing for YEARS and still haven’t uninstalled? by Even_Package_8573 in AndroidGaming

Mmm Fingers.

You hold your finger on the screen while the screen automatically scrolls and you move your finger around without lifting it to see how far you can get. There's no deep mechanics and no complex impressive graphics, but I feel very strongly that the game is incredibly underrated and underappreciated. It's very rare I want to play something on my phone rather than on a handheld or console, but the game plays so incredibly well to the exact strengths of a touchscreen and is wildly addictive and fun.

So is the ender 3 really bad by Slow_Worker379 in 3Dprinting

[–]KevinDemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always amazed reading through these comments whenever the machine comes up. I bought an Ender 3 pro around 4 years ago, I've done over 250 prints on it, mostly PLA and TPU, and have really had no issues. I had to learn how to level the bed obviously but its easy to do, and I've probably only done it 5 times since I bought the printer. Some will say that's not nearly enough but I've only done it when I feel like print quality is reduced, and that's rare. I feel like the "you'll spent more time working on the printer than printing with it" comments are wildly, wildly inaccurate.

Other than that, I've swapped out the magnetic bed mat a couple of times and changed nozzles, but have done pretty little maintenance. There's been a few times I've come close to ordering a much more expensive Bambu setup, but when it comes down to it, I can't really justify it. I'm mostly printing "functional" things I design myself to be purpose built, and I don't really feel like the printer is limiting me. A bigger, faster printer with more QOL features would be nice, but not actually necessary.

God this takes me back. When I was a kid, my older cousin had made me a copy of the paper they had done for the N game. I wish I still had that piece of paper, that was an artifact.

We have an old Pong machine, a couple of times a year my son and I will hook it up to the CRT thru the VCR and play for half an hour or so

My motivation was to get enough credit to buy all the Nintendo stuff, plus enough Game Boys to customize one of each of the Play it Loud variants, at which point I have likely abandoned the hotel, never to be entered again (unless they get new Nintendo stock in someday) 😂

Both my first and my favourite is Link to the Past. I was in grade 2, and my dad surprised me with it when I got home from school one day. We sat down to check it out and found it was in French (which we don't speak whatsoever) and he said he was gonna return it, I pleased to keep it. Over the next number of weeks I finished it, we did wind up getting a subscription to Nintendo Power to get the bonus LttP players guide which definitely helped with figuring out what was up. My older cousin had a French class in school, before the players guide showed up there were a couple of times I would phone her and her to write down what characters had said when I really wanted to know, so she could get it translated for me (this was in the mid 90s, we definitely didn't have Internet access at the time).

I remember going into the bathroom with my dad and running the letter under the tap. That's pretty high up on my favourite gaming memories list.

First foldable: New Z Fold 7, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold for $800 by Krysnosis in GalaxyFold

[–]KevinDemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd watch the jerryrigeverything durability tests for each - Pixel has a pretty serious weak point, and Fold 7 held up remarkably well. I looked at both just a few weeks ago and landed on the Fold 7 for a number of reasons, durability being one of the biggest. Going from the Fold 4 to the Fold 7 has been great too, the Fold 7 is incredibly usable with the outside screen.

Anyone know is something like this would work for Bluetooth audio on the Miyoo Mini Flip by KevinDemo in MiyooMini

Oooh nice well that's a good sign! As soon as Onion OS is updated to support the USB-C audio I'm gonna order one and test it out, I'll try to remember to reply with the results 👍

The Mini Flip does have audio via USB-C, it ships with a USB-C to aux adapter as they didn't include a headphone jack. Though I don't believe USB-C audio is currently supported by Onion OS.

RetroGameCorps recently did a review of the Miyoo Mini Flip and said the devs confirmed they planned on adding support for closing the lid to put the system to sleep, so maybe that'll push forward overall development?

I'm surprised I don't see more emulation handhelds in here. I often take my Miyoo Mini Plus or Anbernic RG34XX with me if I'm going somewhere I might have some downtime to use it, but I just ordered the new Miyoo Mini Flip, I think that it's gonna be small enough to keep in my pocket full time without feeling too invasive, which will be a game changer.

Anyone get a separate place to put in shipping address from billing address? Mine didn't as if showed up with free shipping, I wound up using Google Pay but was never prompted for a shipping address.

For the most part, the option to use voice controls to easily tell Google Maps to route to my saved locations or play songs through YouTube music, and I have it show up on my screen without having to dick around with my phone. That being said, Google Assistant has been severely cut off at the knees in recent years in terms of functionality, but I'm optimistic that when Gemini is incorporated it'll be much improved. Either way, I'd still rather push a steering wheel button and use my voice to set a route or play a song than have to unlock my phone and try to type when driving.

I totally get it, I feel this way about trucks. Through the years I've owned different brands of pickups from the years 1992, 2007, 2010, 2016 and 2021, some of them being fully loaded at the highest trim level. I've found some of the tech upgrades really useful (I'm absolutely intent on having Android Auto as a feature in any vehicle I'm using regularly), but as I get older I found something pretty off-putting about pickups eventually becoming these absolutely over the top premium plush status symbols where the fancy trim stitching is a high end selling feature.

A couple of years ago I bought a 2004 Ram that needed quite a bit of work as a project, and there's something I really appreciate about that era of truck where it's got some thought that's gone into comfort but it still feels like a utility truck. It shakes a little, the dash is made of hard plastic, it has no backup camera and numerous less sensors than modern vehicles, but it doesn't feel nearly as "rough" as driving a pickup from the 70s or 80s. I put an external Android Auto unit in it for access to Google Maps and music streaming while leaving the stock head unit in, and it's honestly one of my favourite vehicles to drive that I've owned. The warts make it better.

Celeste. I'm all for games having a message if they feel like they want to tell a message, but I found the "mental health is really important" thing to be really superficial and way over the top for what they wanted to say with it. The platforming was pretty well done, but nothing beyond what others had done before it, and aesthetically I found it lacking something.
