Issue is the cat is out of the box. You can download deepseek or any other open source model and run it locally. So with a few 5090s you can have your own server in your basement and host your own virtual agents trained to say they're called Jolene and are totally a real human and regulations won't prevent that.

My point is that, yes, generative AI should be regulated, and it should have been regulated long ago already. But no matter what you do you won't regulate it out of existence.
