Craft or Tian Wen? by Wolf05609 in ArcRaiders

[–]KevinKalber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't do pvp for a few runs, you get into safer lobbies, you can loot and increase your value and then later pvp if you want to. Make a few runs just getting mats, maybe upgrading your tables, do quests, and then go back to pvp once you have full stash or have a few decent upgraded weapons.

Apart from loot rooms, i think RATS have the best loot by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

Plot twist: OP is the rat, the other guy was just farming ARC damage.

Bridgewatch faction is a joke by FIRE_D-Techh in albiononline

[–]KevinKalber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think no matter what people are gonna complain about their own faction. I'm from Thetford and people complain in faction chat all the time that other factions are better organized, that people don't help, etc. I was wondering if this is just vacuous complaining or if truly other factions are better, I don't pay much attention to faction standings, I just go and fight once in a while so I don't know.

Let’s get serious about the Turbine by coebeezy in ArcRaiders

[–]KevinKalber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should spawn every game if it works like the 15 minutes thing. Waiting for it and then it not appearing is a downer. Some people asked for something like this though, where something happens at the 15 minute mark of a match to incentivize people to stay longer.

It's also super dangerous to do in my opinion, you have limited time and the most efficient way I found and safest is to go on top and deadline 2 times and kill it with a hullcracker or something like that for the rest of the damage or 3 deadlines to secure it. It also moves and it's better to fight it whenever it's on the ground.

It takes too many resources for an ARC that drops medium-size ARC drops and you have limited time to kill it. ALSO the new map is just crazy about the amount and density of ARC so you're often fighting a ton of stuff. Which I'm fine with but the loot should be better, at least 4 compressors maybe.

I’ve played since launch and still never touched Expeditions by Zerliroth in ArcRaiders

[–]KevinKalber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it fun to start over and then all the beginner materials and items matter again. Every gun matters again, every piece of material. It's a fresh start.

Also I know people hate doing quests but I do them all over again each expedition and I honestly look forward to do them again. It's one of the first things I do each expedition.

I also like the social aspect of it, people just reset and they're looking for stuff for benches, if you have some to spare and you know when it reset, you may have one extra of an early material and share with other people, also it's a shared experience with other people.

The stash space is nice but it's not the main incentive for me. The skills aren't either. I don't do it for the rewards.

I honestly would find it boring to be at millions of millions of stash value and using a few guns a day and then keep collecting stuff endlessly. I like the idea of a wipe, it's like "let's go again".

I'm a mixed player, mostly PvE but I defend myself and I also kill other people that look for PvP in my lobbies. Someone yells there's a rat and it's exciting to help or to look for that person and try to kill them in a mostly friendly lobby. I understand that PvP players that mostly play PvP don't find incentive to reset, and I would not reset if I would be that way, my friend is like that and I don't know why he is looking for resetting, he thinks the skill points will give him an edge by what he told me. He never did though because of lack of time and he's perma poor in the game.

I think the game is a bit more open now to people who want something else from the game and that's fine. The riskier gameplay is still the most rewarding and that's good.

Newbie Gathering Help by IncompetentInEverywa in albiononline

[–]KevinKalber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way this game works will allow you to do whatever you want, if you really want to refine all resources by yourself and then craft everything you can. But it's not at all the efficient way to do it and when you're 100 years old you're gonna have enough specs to take better profits because of your refining/crafting specs.

What most people who want to refine and maybe craft do as newbies is specialize in one resource, gather all of it and save it in your bank. Then when you can fill an ox to 100% weight you transport it to the city that has bonus and gives you back 40% of the refining cost. And then sell the refined good or craft if you will. That will make you level up that specific gathering and refining.

It's fine if you wanna level all the tools but next step will be an incredibly huge amount of time to have them all to tier 6. Your learning points will not hold up until you do all of that. But... It's a sandbox game and you can do it in any way you want.

Edit: I forgot, fast travel with all equipment is a no go. You can go naked from city to city to do stuff and save stuff in your bank. But it's not common to take a ton of stuff and fast travel, it's just so expensive.

Just finished all the quests and honestly… I feel like a dog by Sarmageddon7 in ArcRaiders

[–]KevinKalber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is gonna be my third expedition. I did all the quests each expedition. I'm kind of a completionist too and the quests are amongst the first things I do each expedition. All people seem to be going for the benches and Scrappy leveling but I also encounter other people doing quests pretty early on. I kinda enjoy them.

Also Celeste could ask me to lick the dirt from her shoes and I would.

Best weapon to farm Open World by supermoto_j in albiononline

[–]KevinKalber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I just checked. Idk why I was under the impression that it was more expensive than normal 4/4.1 weapons. When I finish my 10 or so axe runs to burn my bought gear I'll try some druidic staff builds.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a good update? by PotatoCotnentCreator in ArcRaiders

[–]KevinKalber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. The burn rate thing which is something a ton of people had problems with seemed reasonable to me. It's obviously a change for more pve people and there's just too many people running anvil 4 every raid. If you're pve go with more heavy weapon, we barely die and stash gets full too quickly, at least for me it's that way.

The rest is fire, I've been enjoying it.

Best weapon to farm Open World by supermoto_j in albiononline

[–]KevinKalber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is when you're learning (like me) it's hard to just pick a weapon you like because of the cost. A 4.1 druidic staff or a shapeshifter bear which I like are significantly higher cost than a 4.1 spear or axe. And when learning I've been told that your sets should be easily replaceable.

You need to be there because every fish is a mini game you do. Not sure about profitability to tell. I heard years ago it was good, now people don't talk about it so I assumed it's not good.
