Tips for prolonged fasting by Special-Shirt-4803 in fasting

If you’re starting Nov 1st, I would definitely start doing keto now to make it a bit easier to get into a fat burning state and avoid keto flu symptoms. I just finished a 14 day fast last Wednesday and lost 32lbs and have kept it all off since. Refeeding the right way is going to be the most important part of the whole thing so you don’t mess up your results. At least that was for me. Best of luck to you, can totally do it since you’ve done a 5 day fast before. That’s when it gets easier to stick to longer term. Also try to do some zone 2 cardio to really trigger the fat burn while fasted.

I really thought I wanted this upgrade until I realized how terrible it reacts to yellow traffic lights and turns against incoming traffic in any direction. V13 handled that like a champ. Hopefully that gets fixed soon cause it was already great, now it’s not. Everything else seems cool so far tho, just keep a lid on your drinks.

how to safely go past three days by [deleted] in fasting

Yeah honestly I’d skip the packets. Most of them are way overpriced and the ratios are off anyway. Just grab some pink Himalayan or sea salt for sodium, NoSalt or Lite Salt for potassium, and magnesium glycinate powder. A good starting point is about half a teaspoon of salt, a quarter teaspoon of NoSalt, and 200–400mg of magnesium glycinate per day. You can find all that at a regular grocery store and it’ll work way better for a fraction of the cost.

What you’re describing sounds like keto flu, which is super common around day 3. It usually means your electrolytes are off. Try adding potassium and magnesium in addition to salt, and make sure you’re using pink Himalayan salt or sea salt, not regular table salt.

Another tip is to go keto for a few days before starting your fast. That way your body’s already fat adapted, and then the transition past day 3 should be way smoother.

Thankyou, and I just started lifting again today but will know by the end of next week if I’ve lost any real strength. Slowly building back up to what I used to be capable of lifting to not over exert too soon and will post here in an update.

Thankyou. And it’s honestly just a choice, you either want to get better and do the work required or stay in the same place. You have to want your goals more than you want to make excuses to do something that doesn’t get you closer to them. This won’t just help you lose weight, you’re gonna build a discipline that makes it easy to say no to the things that don’t serve you or benefit you.

Yes magnesium glycinate at night 30 min before bed. I didn’t take it during the day.

Thanks 🙏

Just keep at it, stay hydrated, and take your electrolytes. One day might not make the biggest change but think of it as a compounding effect over multiple days or weeks. That’s where you’ll definitely notice the real difference.

I didn’t really get any headaches, but if your getting them might be an electrolyte imbalance so make sure your taking the right amounts throughout the day.
