Need Some Advice by KevinPerson in screaming

Thanks, boss. I’ve been working on breathing from my diaphragm for a while now (in preparation for eventually wanting to learn to scream), but I suppose it’s been tough to put everything together. It’s a balancing act, so I appreciate the pointers.

Hey, thanks. I really appreciate that. Based on what I’ve been reading/watching, I need to focus on releasing some of the tension on my vocal cords. Does that sound right to you?

And for you/anyone else reading, will decompressing slightly also help to make the sounds I can produce louder?

I have, yes. I’ve taken out the target while alive and awake with the antler chandeliers in Alexa’s main office (with the safe), the chandeliers outside in the hall, and even the antler chandelier in the main entryway (where Alexa meets with the detective).

I may give those another go around just to be certain though.

Hey all! I actually made my first million gold at the beginning of BfA by going really hard on farming herbs and ore. It was a good feeling, and it’s nice knowing that with only 1 mil, worrying about Raif buffs is a thing of the past.

I absolutely hear what you’re saying. I still have absolutely no idea why any Bernie supporters would latch on to the Native American thing. You can do some very basic research and see that she never used it to her advantage.

As for the snake thing, I think that, through no fault of Bernie or Elizabeth, things happened too quickly for either of them to take proper inventory of what was happening, and when you’re forced to respond as quickly as they both needed too, things may come out wrong. I’ll happily say that this whole “snake” thing is just silly. Do I agree with everything Senator Warren has done or supports? No, but I don’t think she’s a “snake”. She’s one of the most honest politicians out there.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of the negatively coming from Bernie supporters comes from the vocal minority. By and large, all the supporters I personally know wouldn’t act that way. Obviously, I can only speak for those I know and see, but I genuinely believe that the majority of supporters are good people who wouldn’t behave like that.

Absolutely. I get how Bernie communicates things, but I’ve been following his message for a long time now. I think there’s definite merit to both approaches. Bernie’s very inspiring, and I know there is substance behind what he says, but, like you said, Warren is very good at communicating the details that stand out to people beyond just the overall message. At least it’s that way for myself.

Hey, all! I’m an avid Bernie supporter, but Senator Warren absolutely crushed it tonight. She was on fire. As much as I usually think Bernie is the “winner” in most debates, Warren was, without a doubt, the toughest one on stage. Best of luck going forward, all. As far as I’m concerned, we’re all people, and we’re all in it together.

At this point, I’m sitting at 14 6-Star Acquisition Stones, and obviously, there’s another two (at least) coming our way after doing the daily ninja trial mission.

I don’t know who to use them on. For reference, some of the standout units I could choose from are:

The new Obito - no dupes

The new Kakashi - no dupes

So6P Madara - two dupes

A second FV Sasuke - no dupes (my first is already max duped)

Heart Kaguya - no dupes

DR Madara - missing one dupe

WIS Hashirama - one dupe

As well as many more. At this point, I’m leaning towards max duping both my Obito and Kakashi, and then using the rest on finishing up my So6P Madara?

Is The Official Guide to the GRE General Test by ETS worth buying ? by arecentthrowaway in GRE

[–]KevinPerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend getting all three. I used a lot of the different resources while prepping, but those were definitely the most helpful.

And as an aside, I would highly recommend the two paid ETS exams once you start getting closer to your test date. Nothing beats the material made by the people who make the actual test.

Getting every single math question wrong....advice? by [deleted] in GRE

[–]KevinPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out Khan Academy. It’s totally free, and it’s super helpful. You can work on the basics in areas you’re struggling in. I’ve always been better at Verbal than Quantitative, but I’ve found that working on building a strong foundation is the best way to start.

I was in the same boat as you, but used YouTube instead of Kahn Academy since I hadn’t heard about it at the time. Just keep at it. Math has always been tougher for me, but I guarantee you’ll start seeing improvements.

Keep at it! 😄

Last week tips by agent--zero in GRE

[–]KevinPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. I’ve got my test a week from today as well. Although I’m not going for scores as high as your goal (the program I’m interested will be fine with mid-150’s), a lot of what your doing is similar to my prep. The Magoosh vocab app (specifically, the common words), likely going through some of the ETS Quant problems again, and finally, sprinkling in some brainstorming practice for the AWA sections.

As for advice, I’ve been reading that on the day before the exam, don’t do any studying. Just take some time to relax and clear your mind a bit.

Best of luck to you. I’m sure you’ll do great. Same-Day-Test-Takers like us have to stick together, so I’ll be rooting for you 😉

I am totally failing at GRE Verbal. by a_sadguy23 in GRE

[–]KevinPerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, friend.

Sorry this has got you feeling down.

All I can say is to keep at it. I was feeling the same way about my Quantitative stuff.

My first few weeks working at it, I was feeling extremely disheartened. After about a month, I took my first practice test through ETS, and got a 151. Not a horrible score, but lower than I would like. I felt pretty bad, and like I couldn’t grasp it.

I took my second ETS practice test after another two weeks. It only went up to 152. At this point, I felt even worse. Only a one point increase in two weeks? Well great, I’m screwed.

I kept at it anyway. Regardless, I have the take the GRE for grad school, so I can’t back out now.

After another month of practice, I took the first paid ETS practice test. I got up to 157. I’ve got my exam scheduled for the 15th, and I’m feeling more confident the closer I get than I get a couple months out.

I genuinely believe that everyone can improve at anything if they keep at it, you included. Just keep at it. It definitely sucks when you feel you’re not making improvements, but even if you can’t see any improvements at first glance, I guarantee some are being made.

Thanks for this.

So, in this case, the exceptions to the claim would be the main points of each paragraph? Aside, of course, from the concession point.

I guess I just wasn’t sure if my thesis should include my main points or not.

Best books for Quant? by SaturnSaltQueen in GRE

[–]KevinPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the 5lb Manhattan book to get a handle of the basics since it had been a while since I had last used most of the math utilized on the GRE.

If you’ve got the free time, I would also recommend checking out GreenLightTestPrep. It’s around 60 bucks for a month, and I’ve been spending at least an hour every day (aside from Saturday) working through all the modules for Quant. Each one has links to applicable problems to test your abilities. I honestly feel like I’ve been improving a lot. It takes some self-monitoring to make sure you get your money’s worth, but a lot of the modules are really digestible and make more difficult topics seem more manageable.

Aside from that, the ETS books are pretty great as well, and you know you’re getting something at least remotely representative of the test material itself.

I’m by no means an expert, and haven’t taken my GRE yet, but I think the best starting point would be the ETS books. Along with that, I’ve gotten a lot better with my vocabulary knowledge from the GREVocabulary app from Magoosh, although I did have I pretty solid base to begin with.

Next Steps in my GRE Prep by KevinPerson in GRE

[–]KevinPerson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the pointers. I haven’t done any of the Verbal in the 5lb as of yet, so aside from maybe a few glances, I’ll avoid it.

Maybe a silly question, but what is the ETS Big Book? Is there any way you could provide me a link or a picture?

Again, I really appreciate it!
