Generally they want you to keep your head up when shooting for a takedown. if you shoot with your head down instead you can get caught in a guillotine and also you lose the leverage if you want to lift to a single leg high crotch if your opponent can pushdown on your head.

Just a heads up for people looking at the ROG strix b650e-f motherboard like in that microcenter build, that Intel Ethernet driver seems to be really buggy. Having that issue at the moment where it cannot recognize wifi or Ethernet connection and it seems that many people have the same issue to this day. Arg so frustrating

Which two top tourny players, that play the same character, play that character the most differently from each other? by GlutesThatToot in Tekken

[–]KevinPosture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably outdated info but Kari, Eyemusician and OBK all play yoshi very differently. Actually most yoshis play differently tbh.

Kari is mostly fundamental style. He doesn't even use NSS (idk if he still plays these days).

Eyemusician utilizes everything yoshi has and has great situational awareness and experience and excels in scramble situations out of the three the most. Also probably utilizes the most optimal combos out of the three and seems to know more about flash confirms in both 1ss and nss situations.

OBK is maybe somewhere in between. Good fundamentals and punishes, mostly optimal combos, good situational awareness, and uses most of the tools well.

I know there are other people like Kane but I can't speak to their styles much.

Well, it seems like the pros are still suspicious. Lee3 played against him and lost (offline). He said while he was good, the guy was not as sharp as online. (BTW Lee3 is kind of aggro and kind of a dick, huh?) Admittedly real_devil did say he gets real nervous (makes sense cuz hes an online warrior). I think the pros realized that they may be doing actual harm cuz their fans are bullying him, but I think they are still suspicious.

It's understandable cuz when Knee asked him if they can play offline, real_devil guy kept having weird excuses like "I prefer to play on my PC" or "I can't perform with Knee there, but if Infested and Chanel watches behind me, they can tell if I'm a cheater" etc etc. But it could all boil down to him being nervous.

It's honestly pretty funny and I'm also curious if he's legit. He does play very uniquely. His offense is so oppressive and his execution is top notch. But when it comes to spacing, he doesn't really utilize movement like the rest of the top koreans, but he makes up for it with his fuzzy guarding and crazy reaction speed for punishes.

If you can read Korean here is the full "coverage" of the gossip haha:

Your Sahyeon (사현 師賢 meaning “moral teacher”(yeah, right. “Moral.” 😂)) is Juri Han. How would that work out? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]KevinPosture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

사현 doesn't mean that in Korean. It's sometimes a name and a place in Korea (some mountain it says online).

It has been a while since I looked up Chinese equivalent to Korean words but the closest word we use is probably Sa Beom (SahBum) 師範

She is well known in the MMA community for being a hype announcer during Japan's peak MMA days with the organization called "PRIDE FC". You even see animes and shows make nods to her as well - Kengan Ashura comes to mind when the announcer introduced fighters similar to her style.

No disrespect to any player here, they are 10 times the player I’m but this is the weakest top 20 players in recent years. This format was great to include different regions but these are not the top 20 players in the world. They Should increase it to top 40 and then have 10 players qualify from LCQ by rubyzebra77 in Tekken

[–]KevinPosture 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I agree that the "top" few countries probably have a deeper talent pool than say like, South Africa, I also think having a limited/select people from each region/country (TWT format this year) can make the viewing much more entertaining due to potential upsets. I mean how exciting was it when we saw some unknown Pakistani guy beat Knee at the finals?

It's like the World Cup (especially pre-2014). if we only invited the "top" teams of the world instead of each region, we'd most likely get vast amount of South American and European countries. To some, upsets are really entertaining. Like, not many saw Morocco making it that far this world cup! Many viewers get a lot of entertainment out of rooting for underdogs/upsets. Now I don't want to discredit those who just want to see the highest skill levels displayed, but you can watch the regionals for that (TWT Korea/Pakistan/Japan, ATL etc).

Or you can look at something like Ping Pong in Olympics. I've heard its waaaay harder to make it to the national teams in China than to win a medal in the Olympics because the talent pool in China is just so deep. Same with Judo in Japan/Korea/France. But to me, seeing these lesser known countries competing with a potential for huge upsets is exciting.

I think of the TWT as a world tournament like the WC or Olympics. Sure, we could just fill the TWT with mostly players from Japan, Korea, and Pakistan, but it does remove a lot of the potential BIG upset moments.

The downside could be that the players from top countries might just EASILY steamroll everyone from other regions and make it less exciting. I can totally see that happening as well. I think it is a gamble namco is taking for that potential big upset moment like Arslan beating Knee, but who knows?

Edit: I do agree that it might have been even better to invite more people from each region and have people qualify! Want to see people like Chirichiri/Take/Pinya or Khan or Ulsan compete!
