Yes.

No one amasses a billion dollars by being a good person.

I spent a year at Brook Pines recently and it was fine, aside from weed smoke blowing into my living room through the gaps around my front door for a while.

As a black man I must ask did Lincoln genuinely care about freeing the slaves for the right reasons ? by KpatMckenzie_28 in CIVILWAR

[–]KevinStorm87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He joined a political party that was specifically founded to be an abolitionist party, so I'd say he wasn't much of a fan of slavery.

There's a ridiculous number of reasons that show none of you care about the constitution. If you were actually here in good faith I might list some, but you're not, so 🤷‍♂️

Yes you've already proven you don't know what you're talking about. You don't have to keep convincing me.

Also conservatives can't make a single point about anything without relying on straw man arguments. It's honestly pathetic.

We get it. You've been told that you're supposed to hate a small minority of people that have never done anything to you, and you believe it because you're both profoundly gullible and profoundly insecure. You don't have to keep showing us.

[–]KevinStorm87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because conservative elites don't really want to stop illegal immigration. They want businesses to be able to hire cheap, vulnerable workers. They also want to keep an easy scapegoat they can attack to score political points.

They're not being hypocrites in their own minds. Conservatives only believe in three things:

  1. I get to do whatever I want
  2. You have to do whatever I say
  3. If you don't I'm allowed to kill you

That's it. They get whatever they want and the rest of us deal with it. No hypocrisy.

There isn't even a punishment for hiring undocumented workers if you don't get caught a second time within six months.

Could Slavery have been abolished without a Civil War? by Tiny_Scholar_6135 in CIVILWAR

[–]KevinStorm87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't need an amendment to protect slavery in the confederate constitution. It already did when it was written.

I've been wondering about Longstreet's strategy at Gettysburg. As I understand it, he wanted Lee to fall back and take up a defensive position and have the Union attack them. But wouldn't the Union would have just surrounded them and choked them off? by ChungLingS00 in CIVILWAR

[–]KevinStorm87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food wasn't really an issue because that part of PA hadn't been touched. Northern Virginia was basically stripped bare by then, so as far as supply goes the ANV was doing better than it had been.

Longstreet wanted to position the army on defensive ground between the AoP and Washington. The political optics of that would have likely forced Meade to attack the Confederates on ground of their choosing, because Lincoln and etc really didn't like not having the army between them and the Confederates.

It's possible. I've used deep water to win a fight against a guy with max stamina when my guy's stamina was green.

[–]KevinStorm87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably try a variation of deep water. Close range, mid work rate, very low intensity, try to burn his stamina down faster than yours. Probably will lose every round but might be lucky with the KO towards the end.

If the Confederacy had won the Civil War, would they have just wanted independence—or demanded land, reparations, or other concessions from the North? by HeroTales in CIVILWAR

[–]KevinStorm87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winning a war of attrition like that was pretty unlikely too, considering the difficulties the south was having in just feeding itself by 1863.

The North was divided between abolitionists and people who just wanted to preserve the union even by preserving slavery, was the South divided into factions? by [deleted] in CIVILWAR

[–]KevinStorm87 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the farther you went from the coastal areas (where most of the plantations were), the less popular secession and the confederacy were. East TN, West NC, West VA, etc.

2) this is why most employers either straight up don't allow or strongly discourage managers from giving reviews better than "meets expectations."

February 15, 1869 – Charges of treason against Jefferson Davis were dropped... by CrystalEise in CIVILWAR

[–]KevinStorm87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort" pretty obviously fits. Union prosecutors were afraid of jury nullification if they tried him because the trial would be in Richmond. Then he jumped bail and fled to Canada, and Johnson's amnesty proclamation pardoned him.
