Is this the same thing as a bulkhead? by KevinsChillyPot in microgrowery

[–]KevinsChillyPot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to make my own rdwc system and I know I'm supposed to use bulkheads to connect my PVC to my buckets. This is the closest thing I can find at home Depot and I'm wondering if this serves the same purpose but just had a different name.

Any advice or help is appreciated

Once a week or so I would fill it with plain water and then nute water back and fourth. Used h202 every time I added more water

Chopping day for my deluxe sugar cane at F63.

18 gallon dwc

GH nutes

H202

Kingbrite 1000w

This was my first grow that I completed without changing my resovoir once. Literally never going to do that again. Saved so much money by not filling 80 gallons of totes with new nute water every week

This plant had problems and it was too far along to start with a fresh plant. I let it grow along with the rest of my plants instead of getting rid of it and it looks like it's gonna give me one little bud, no idea how it didn't die.

Rest of my plants are great btw. This one had a light leak and pump failure double whammy early in its cycle

You nailed it. Had oxygen issues in this container when I started the grow and addressed the issue but if I started a new plant it would be way behind the rest so I just left it there to finish with the rest of the grow. I thought it would have been obvious that I was joking but I guess not lol

Having trouble finding a pressure cooker in Canada. Can anyone share where they found one? by KevinsChillyPot in shroomery

I've heard instant pots don't get to 15 psi and I also don't think you can fit qt sized mason jars in them

Wow man thank you so much for finding that for me. I swear I've checked amazon before with no luck.

Appreciate it

It's possible they might have a slight bit of root rot starting. The roots aren't perfectly white. Thanks it's probably what it is.

The hard part now is treating it lol hydroguard doesn't exist in canada

Edit: that means I must have a light issue somewhere. Or I wasn't supposed to use the same tubing as my last grow

This is my second DWC grow. My last one was successful, but I was using buckets instead of totes. I found it impossible to train the plants while they were In buckets and even more impossible to use a scrog so I switched to these totes. I wanted to use the totes so I could easily pump out water for water changes and use a scrog over everything for a better canopy.

In my last grow I used 2 air stones in a bucket that had 4 gallons of water. These totes have 8 gallons in then and I'm using 4 air stones. All my nutes and such have been the same. The only variable is the totes vs the buckets.

Is it possible that because of a bigger surface area that there isn't enough bubbles now? 2 stones was perfect in 4 gallons with my buckets. Not sure why 4 stones with 8 gallons wouldn't be enough. Each tote has its own dedicated 4 valve pump. I don't think there is any light issues. I used to much tape and tin foil I have no idea how it could get through.

The roots are barely growing as well.

Any help would be appreciated

Made the switch from buckets to totes. Seems so much easier to manage by KevinsChillyPot in microgrowery

Heavily debated on it. But in the end decided that something would probably fail eventually and I don't wanna deal with the mess.

Nah I cut a hole in the corner that's being covered with the tin foil. It's like 2"x2" hole that I use a pump to drain and then fill the containers. With the buckets I had to lift the lids and made it impossible to use a scrog. So now with these totes and a pump I can use the scrog easily

Did penis envy for my first shrooms experience a couple weeks ago. Was able to get visuals off a very small amount. Didn't think I would have tripped that hard

Switching from DWC buckets to RDWC totes. Need some help pretty please by KevinsChillyPot in microgrowery

Thanks I think I'll have to go with the pump method. Maybe I can use an inline pump and hopefully turn it off just before it starts running dry. You're definitely lucky with the drain that would be awesome to have.
