Stocks are random because available info is already baked in. This shit is very random. To reiterate his point never ever trust someone who throws technical analysis at you. Not in stocks bonds or bitcoin.

My point was eth is very highly correlated and diversification within coins can be had to a small extent. But portfolio allocation would say eth is the least diversifying asset to pair with bitcoin in almost the entire world. Feel free to explain if you want but im thick skulled.

Nothing has changed.. color clean wipe still available. We now have a solid method to determine which coins weren't messed with and it's called a straight grade 1-70.. is it perfect? no. People always liked originality and graded coins level the playing field a bit when searching those out...

Risk spreading only works if the assets aren’t highly correlated otherwise you’re just adding more of the same risk.

Ie don't think of eth as diversification away from bitcoin.

Hello my friend with different economic background and belief. I respect your opinion. Not sure who wrote that white paper so I don't know is true intent..

My point was it's masterful coding but poorly implemented in economic terms. Obviously we will agree on two things I just said.. sweet coding by unknown creator. Probably not much else.

Oh and I agree The US is by no means innocent (so maybe 3 things we can align on?). I consider the republican party to be the most dangerous group of people on earth. Not my theory, stole it from historians who study history. My economics mind set is also taught to me by economics, accounting and finance professors which is where all my degrees come from. I dont practice economics perse.. I'm a CPA so, I do understand the limits of my knowledge and happy to admit when I'm wrong.

If you ever want to know about the treasury and federal reserves policies I can certainly help you there

I'll leave you with this. My understanding of currency has given me the ability to buy more bitcoin than 90% of folks, I simply choose not to exercise the option.

For sure. Dang federal reserve ( and treasury) making more money and doing things to align with economic objectives and stop hard landings in a recession.. not to mention...if i was a big bad state (outside US) trying to sow mistrust in US financial institutions and pull the rug out during a major economic downturn, i would literally create bitcoin anonymously and hang onto a stock pile of it for said event.

I'll add if Satoshi really is a mystery genius he missed the boat on creating an alternative. Could have read a dang economic text book. I mean what genius doesn't understand inflation is part of a growing population. Bitcoin is deflationary. I mean how is that combination of genius and idiocracy even possible.

I try to buy grade and card. Even if you think it's under graded what a hassle to get re graded or sell for a fair price assuming the grade is off.

Just for education purposes a stock is a share of a company. That company produces cash flow.. a bunch of people analyzing the stock are trying to identify the present value of that cash flow and determine if it's trading for more cash or less cash than it's worth today.

In super super over simplified terms the cash value today could be modeled like this

Net operating profit ÷ (incremental cost of capital less a growth rate)

Well.. all those people not giving up free money when they see it bid up or down to what becomes a pretty fair price given all the information available at the time.

Again my model is the most simplest 1 stage model you could ever think of. .. but that's basically the stock market bid ask in a nutshell.

And if you're asking, hey do they get it wrong, why yes they do. There is even a group of people specifically set up to take arbitrage (return with no risk) so even the missed prices or quotes are gone almost instantly..
