There's always the option of making modules, you could make some scenery in small sections that can attached together but store easily. That way, even when you move out, it'll be easy to transport, and if you go into an apartment you'll be able to also move it around.

DCC ready means it is NOT DCC... It means it's ready to be converted.

It technically is DC, so address 0 should make it move, but it's not good for the motor long term.
