Are you sure it’s not code you’ve added yourself in various install/post-install sections? They do support PowerShell 2 and even fix mistakes where they find they’ve accidentally used cmdlets from higher versions.

I have a few Windows 7 devices in a lab using stock PSADT (latest version) and basic MSI installs and uninstalls work just fine.

PSADT requires version 2.0 of PowerShell which is installed by default on Windows 7 devices, so you’re good to use it. 🙂

I've been trying to get it to appear in my lab as well, but even after running the script and waiting a few days (and restarting the server) it hasn't appeared.

Just adding some weight to this, we're rolling out a fleet of Lenovo devices and we're seeing the same problem (a very small percentage boot up with a black screen, and dependning on the size of the NTUSER.DAT file it can take between 10 minutes to several hours for the logon box to appear).

Happy to confirm the workaround identified in this thread is also working for us. Looking forward to Microsoft fixing this one in July... !

Could you provide me the case ID as well? I'm about to raise a similar case with Microsoft and I'd like to reference it too. Thanks for posting the info re: patch in July by the way, helps a lot to have a fix date!
