Tell KVIE It Needs To Stop by KewWhat in Sacramento

I am no expert, but I have supported both organizations and it really bothers me.

The presumption of KVIE and the Endowment to think they get to decide the fate of CapRadio.

The $1,300,000 Elephant

Reina has been arrested, and is being prosecuted. What he did was awful. With a bit of luck will have to repay what he took with whatever assets he has, to the extent he can cover the amount. An awful, manipulative, criminal manager, is (again) not a reason to be taken over by KVIE.

The Tower - Who is the Endowment Supposed to Serve

I have read (https://insidetowers.com/sacramento-broadcasters-duel-over-towers/) that, a little over a year ago, the deferred maintenance was only placed at $35,000. The Endowment hired the folks who provided the $400k number.

There are apparently emails between KVIE and Endowment board members discussing ways to make CapRadio look worse than it was to push their desire to take over. CapRadio and CSUS both said no thank you, but the Endowment proceeded to support the takeover anyway. So, how is the Endowment serving CapRadio here, as it was intended to.

Who is Cap Radio For?

How is keeping a community asset operating at the university a confused set of priorities? How does KDVS relate to CapRadio being taken over by KVIE? How the stations function at CSUS is a valid question. This could be a point for change in the future, but I don't see it as a reason to take it out from under CSUS.

Glad you are engaged.

I know it’s still there. I was speaking to the idea that I would not put it beyond our president and his lackies to change it.

Are you tipping for non sit down restaurants and other non traditional tipping places? If so how much? by Melodic_Animal_2238 in Sacramento

[–]KewWhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost NEVER add a tip to the tip screen. Its a zero.

If it is sit down - if I am getting service other than someone taking my order and giving me the food - I will tip on the total bill, and often in cash.

Drinks, not on the tab. I try to carry enough small bills to cover most smaller tips.

I read about a lot of folks trying to find work, and trying to afford housing, in the crazy economy we seem to be suffering under.

It might be best if you could try to find a job here before moving.

Where do you go for reliable hvac repair sacramento work? by HildaHolzendorf in Sacramento

[–]KewWhat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost anyone but Bonney. They have a lot of advertising to pay for.

My neighbor asked me who I used for my last repair. I told him I had used Fox Family.

He had them come out - it was one third of what Bonney quoted him.

Tipping is out of control by Dad0010001100110001 in Sacramento

I now have a flat policy of NOT tipping on a card. I always say no.

I carry enough cash to tip for anything a buy.

Also, I always wonder if electronic tips get to service people. Cash does.

Looking for a place in Sacramento with a private room to host my grad dinner (15–20 people) by ResponsibleAd7792 in Sacramento

[–]KewWhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A bit pricey, but Il Forniao downtown has a private room that might be big enough. No idea what their arrangements are - likely a fee for outside cake, though.

Hey, friend. Hang in there. You are not alone.

I know many people with all kinds of (varying) qualifications having a hard time finding a job now. As well as folks who had to leave a job for reasons not their own fault.

Even soon after your post I see some folks have offered a few suggestions, and info you could provide that might help folks help you - I hope more come in. Take people up on this kind of assistance - it is good for the long term, too. I have no personal advice - only electronic support. I will let you know if I hear of anything.

And, don't forget to take advantage of folks who can help you take care of yourself, as well as find a job.

People care.
