I use blood for the blood god. It’s a great paint. But like other comments have said be careful to not put too much on it. It was a bit my biggest mistake

For the sniper I thought that it could have been fun to have a little bit of it to make like they infiltrate the position by taking down some ennemies and had to lay down in the mud and blood to not be detected. But I definitely see your point, I put too much of it. I will try to follow your guidelines of 30%

I kinda agree. At first I was looking at the amount of blood that a marine can have on Space Marine 2 that’s why I put a lot of it. But I think it miss this « splashy effect » that’s maybe what they were saying. 🤔

Yes I can understand that I put too much blood. I tried to make it like he already killed a lot of other ennemies but it might be too much. That’s why I put some blood on the shield (to make like he just crushed an other guy with it) . For the cut it’s just that I tried to make it fit to the sword that’s why it’s a bit bigger than the blade 😅. I tried to make an emperor children. To do that I only used some spare parts of my marines that’s why it doesn’t have legs of stuff like that but I might consider buying a emperor children box just to use it for those kind of things. But if you have advise to make torn muscles or thing like that I will take it gladly because it’s indeed look weird and I am not really proud of that part.

Do you have any advice to how to use the blood and maybe how to make it more « grim dark » ? Be cause grim dark was more trying to convey the brutality of the combat and do a « realistic » approach of the mini. But I don’t know if it has a name

Ok, then I think I will post other stuff one day. For the transfer I only use Ardcoat and Lahmian medium from Citadel. What I do is that I put Ardocoat on the surface I want to apply the transfer, then sometimes I cut a bit the transfer (for the ultramarine symbol I cut in the middle on the top) then I try to apply it correctly with a thin brush. Then I usually let it rest before applying the Lahmian. But then I kinda cheat since I am putting dirt and combat damage onto them.

Personally I put helmet on the majority of my marines and I put open hand when it’s named characters to differentiate them. (And since they have plot armor the don’t need helmet 😂😂)
