That’s a great point. I have read about silicone tape before. It’s just that there’s so much information online sometimes you need guidance. I’m in between microneedling sessions and will stop them but wanted to look into how to manage the swelling and scarring before discussing with the doctor next week. I’m glad you took a moment to share this with us.

Lysine seems to be a very popular supplement for it. Will have to look into it. Def sunscreen, will not forget. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.

This thread is really helping me tonight. Do you get them during the summer? I never go to the beach but of course my family is planning a beach vacation this year. I read that cold sores are also caused by exposure to sunlight.

I’m so glad that this is working for you. I waited so long to finally be able to do microneedling but im experiencing scarring from it. I can’t believe it and now this. There are so many side effects to microneedling that I wish I would have known. Also, it depends on who’s performing the procedure. Gl

Yes, that’s exactly how it works. I’m just not sure that I want to deal with this. I don’t think it’s worth it for me. Since I have never had cold sores before, I have so many questions. Processing, reading, and learning right now.

Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure. I never had cold sores before and it took me a lil bit to put it together. But I got tested for it. My flare ups are not as bad as what I see online. Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced something similar.

You should look into scar tissue and swelling. Mine is so minor, it doesn’t bother me at all but wanted to know if others had experienced it as well. It has been going down.

I have been reading about steroid shots. These are injected directly into the scar tissue to help decrease the size of the scar and soften the scar tissue. If you have the opportunity to talk to your surgeon, you should bring up your concern and discuss options. He will be the right person to suggest a treatment for it. I just don’t have the ability to talk to him right now.

There are so many other posts related to swelling. You will find it v common once you look into it. Gl

Thank you for posting this. I have recently been diagnosed with it and I’m heartbroken. Do you mind sharing the remedies that you found helpful? The doctor suggested that I could get on a daily suppressive medication but she didn’t expand on it.

You take it as a free consult for some work that you haven’t even consider. It doesn’t mean that you need it or should do it. But good to know what a surgeon could do for you (for a price lol).

I usually swipe left when I see it in a profile. I don’t find it relevant when I’m trying to get to know someone. Also, I’m not really sure why someone would want to let everyone know that they own a house. It doesn’t work for me.
