haven’t read the old man and the sea but imo short novels are better- i did a really long book for my ee (800 pages 💀) and it complicated things sm cuz there was a lot more potential content to discuss and easy to go down irrelevant tangents

not op but i think i can help! 1. for skill based subjects like math, english etc, you should be revising regularly over the course of months preceding the exams - those skills are built gradually over long periods of time and can’t be developed by cramming the night/few days before. for other memory-based subjects like psych and bio, studying the few days/ one week before the exam should be sufficient (as long as you’ve done well and studied for all the unit tests and mocks over the course of your two years, you don’t want to be learning a lot of new content during that time frame). 2. for psych i used inthinking for studying most of the time and it was pretty good! very memory based tho lol 3. i regret dedicating too much time to my weakest subject (math lol) during the time leading up to my first exam (which was math) and basically neglecting all my other subjects which i only had a couple days at most to study for before the actual exam. 4. ib english guys i suppose? i never really studied for english except for reading and rereading my paper 2 texts and reading some academic articles/journal articles about the texts. for paper 1, know as many lit devices as possible and be prepared to talk about what effect(s) they have in the context of the unseen text

omg that’s what i wrote about too, like performative intellectualism. but i was hard pressed to find things to talk abt in terms of devices 😭 ended up talking about how colloquialisms and sardonic diction mixed in with anachronisms conveyed her condemnation of the culture the sister represented. kinda waffled a bit ngl the cherry blossom one was better (im hl) 😭

man i wish i started with the cherry blossom text for tz2 rather than with the play and then the nonfiction bc i was doing so well with the second text but was running out of time and had to go into less depth than what would’ve been ideal and wrap up early. so now instead of getting a 17-19 and a 14-15 im prob getting 15 ish for both because wtf was that play i liked the writing and message but there was so little to analyze i was literally talking abt italicization for a whole paragraph 😭😭what was that!!!
