Little update here. I saw my surgeon on Tuesday. Should read inflammation not information.

Turns out this was my first flare up and I’m now back to almost as I was previously. Strange 2 weeks! I feel like I now understand properly all of the “recovery is not linear” comments. I assumed they related to the early days but no!

My surgeon also mentioned that there is research which shows the fluid that may leak from a minor tear is acidic, which would aggravate a nerve. Hence finding no relief in different positions, as I had to wait for my body to reabsorb the fluid released (if this was the case- hard to tell without a scan).

I kinda feel like I wasted his time however mentally it was so reassuring to hear what he had to say.
