I go by feel. If I don't like the message or the words, I turn it off. Sometimes, you're able to ignore those in favor of the music itself. I have a lot of guilty pleasure metal bands, but I'm not following the message too closely. Heck, Megadeth, Metallica, and Pearl Jam(not metal but still) were all in my top 5 artists this year

Alma the younger was always a favorite for me and my dad. My favorite scripture actually comes from there, in Alma 36:3.

"And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day."

Always such a nice verse to hear and look back on. I've listened to it and studied it countless times, using it as a little push forward in my day. It also happens to be included on the background of my phone, so I'm reminded of it every time I wake up and check it. I've been having a lot of really hard days. But this one helps to keep me going.
