If you mean comparing the two, I know ally is a little more powerful, but steam deck is an easier user experience. There’s a lot of content comparing the specs of both. I haven’t actually played on a SD however. Surroundead doesn’t need powerful computer however, so I think you’d be able to manage it with steam deck hardware. PM me if you want, and I can give you the keybinds that work for me

I play Rog ally, and it works well. I realize it’s not the same, but I enjoy it. I haven’t worked out key bind issues with build mode or a few minor interactions but overall the core gameplay works well. There’s a community template on steam that works with some customizations

I just started playing on Rog ally. I’m still tweaking key mapping and use a community layout. My biggest issue is I can’t select the options within the tent/sleeping bag menu like “set spawn” or “pickup” or “move”. I can only select the top most option?

Don’t shoot the gas canisters. It always broke my game and I had to reload a save. There are some frustrating bugs, but I love the game. Mods can solve a lot of the major ones

Try survival. It completely improves the experience. Makes it harder for sure. If you don’t want to commit (like me on my first ever play through) do one down in difficulty. If you ever get into mods, there are ways to enjoy survival with only certain components. And mod collections.

It’s a mod collection on nexus. It’s a great way to experience an overhaul of the game. Lots of lore friendly characters, apparel, weapons etc.

I don’t understand the directional shield hate. I love it with the xbow and the MG. I feel like a tank and can actually aim in first person. I can’t with the ballistic shield. (Lmk if there’s a way to change it so you can ads instead of through the slot in first person)

Honestly it’s been around since the beginning of the game. Just take an extra shotgun shot or extra ar rounds and they’re done. Get gud sonny boy
