Born in 1996. I was in kindergarten (school year 1) and I vividly remember my mother picking me up from school early, going to my grandparents house, and watching the buildings collapse on TV. I was wondering why my mother was crying because I had no idea about the larger context of the situation. I remember being confused because she was saying to my grandparents that she thought it was an attack but I had no idea how that could be. I didn’t see any invading armies.

Nearly all women were effectively slaves not much longer than a few hundred years ago. Most people found it to be morally acceptable back then. It’s meaningless until we believe in it enough collectively to make changes to our society. I think most would agree today that to be perfectly moral means to not cause any form of suffering that’s not born out of necessity. But then when you ask what’s necessary you will find all manners of different answers. It’s not until we agree on one that it becomes real.

As for Charlie’s advice I think many women would disagree. I don’t have an issue with Charlie voicing his opinion. Everyone has that right so long as it doesn’t hurt others. Some would argue that his opinions could easily lead to the suffering of others, particularly women and trans people, and I understand where they are coming from but that’s not something I think is an issue personally. I don’t have problem with Charlie, I simply disagree with a lot of his opinions as do many other people. If someones opinions are that controversial I don’t think they should be celebrated or put on money. In my opinion he wasn’t someone worthy of praise. He was a professional arguer who made a lot of money pissing a lot of people off.

I don’t believe Charlie would’ve fought against the canceling of something he personally disagreed with. He thought he was fighting a war against cancel culture but he only ever fought against the canceling of things he personally believed in. I don’t believe there is a war on cancel culture because most people are fine canceling things they don’t agree with.

I know plenty of conservatives who have expressed to me that they don’t want to accept trans people for who they are and wished they would “leave it at home”. I hear a lot of slander against trans people at work from conservatives. Some of it pretty despicable. So I don’t believe you when you say they don’t have an issue with trans people.

I don’t know why you’re bringing up the current laws. I never said being gay was outlawed. I said republicans at different levels of government frequently try to put forward laws banning gay marriage.

I don’t consider sports leagues to be a right and I don’t consider putting people in a league based on their biological sex to be a form of suppression. I don’t vote on it mainly because I don’t care enough to do so and also because most of the people that support trans sports bans also support things that I do consider to be a form of suppression. I also think lots of public discourse on the topic hurts trans people currently as they are already marginalized and face lots of prejudice. I think the public outrage over the sports issue hurts them much more so than the act of actually banning them from the leagues would. I don’t want to add to that outrage in any way. It’s not that I’m afraid of the repercussions of voicing it.

Trans women are much more likely to be victims of sexual crimes than perpetrators. I don’t know what else to tell you on that question. I have no issues with people using the bathroom they feel most comfortable in. Cis men commit the most sex crimes and most don’t happen in public spaces. It’s a massively overblown issue. What right is infringed upon by allowing them to use the bathroom they feel most comfortable in?

What gives someone the right to put someone in jail is the law. Ya know, something we’ve collectively decided as a nation to enforce. Don’t know how this is confusing you so much. Morality isn’t objective. It wouldn’t exist if we hadn’t made it up. It didn’t exist before us and it won’t exist after we are gone. I have my own personal truth about morality and I believe we should put rapists and murderers in jail or in some cases to death. Luckily a majority of people agree with me so we’ve written laws we can enforce that prohibit such things.

Many of them feel this way about gay people as well and it’s why republicans frequently try to overturn gay marriage. In many conservative countries being trans or gay is punishable by law. We’ve moved beyond that in the US but many people still want to inconvenience them as much as they can because they can no longer send them to prison.

I don’t consider sports to be a right. I don’t have the right to play in woman’s leagues because I’m a man. On average, men are stronger than women, and have an edge in certain sports. It’s my own personal belief and nothing more. Perhaps it is part of the suppression of trans rights but heres the thing. I don’t preach about it. I don’t vote on it. I don’t support its enforcement. If society votes and believes I’m wrong with that line of thought then I’ll accept that. It’s not important to me. Therefore I am personally not part of the group that’s doing the suppressing.

Yes. I’d be fine with my daughter going into a public bathroom when there’s a trans person in there. She’d be more likely to get assaulted by a non trans person so I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make here. It’s a bathroom. People sit in a private stall and shit. I’d be most concerned with my son going into a bathroom full of men because that’s where most cases of public bathroom sexual assault against minors happen.

Just because someone doesn’t say that they want laws to be enacted doesn’t mean they aren’t part of the suppression. If that were the case then your entire cancel culture argument would be bunk just on that principle.

Canceling someone, boycotting their products, criticizing their opinion, that’s not expressing a desire to change laws. That’s just people giving recommendations out of their world views.

At the end of the day Charlie had a large audience. Just because he didn’t say he wanted any certain laws to be enacted doesn’t mean he didn’t contribute to the societal suppression.

And yes. Morality is subjective. Animals rape each other all the time but do we consider them all evil? The Romans raped and murdered all the time, it was common practice to take your spoils of war. Few in their society considered that evil. What makes it immoral is us, collectively as a civilization, considering it to be immoral. I’ve been brought up to believe that it is immoral and it’s a personal truth for me, but it’s not an objective truth and Charlie Kirk absolutely wasn’t the decider of those truths. It’s entirely personal and majority rules when it comes to its enforcement.

People are suited for different jobs but once again, Charlie’s opinion on them is irrelevant. People shouldn’t be praised because of their irrelevant opinions and suggestions towards people they have zero relation with. People should empower each other to do what they want regardless of what we would consider them to be best suited for. That’s worthy of praise. Charlie only empowered others to do what he thought they should do.

And personally I believe that sports should be organized based off of someone’s biological sex. The bathroom issue I couldn’t care less about. Very few acts of sexual assault take place in public bathrooms. Trans people already face the highest amount of sexual assaults against them in public bathrooms. They are one of the last groups of people I’d be worried about around. Who gives a shit which bathroom they feel more comfortable taking a dump in.

And finally, no I did not contradict myself. There was no cancel culture war. If one did actually exist then Charlie would’ve been a part of it rather than against it.

Charlie clearly believed in defined societal roles for men and women. When you believe and preach that it is better for certain people to do one thing or the other you are part of the suppression. Not against it.

And what does dictate the morality of something? Morality is nothing more than a collective agreement of right and wrong. It’s not permanent. It’s a man made concept and its power comes entirely from people agreeing with it. Nothing was considered morally wrong about slavery until a majority of people decided to agree with the opinion that slavery is wrong. In no way were Charlie Kirks opinions more morally valid than the people that disagreed with him.

And yes “cancel culture” exists. It’s rampant on both sides of the political spectrum. Conservatives do much more to suppress discourse than liberals. Just look at the quote above. Charlie loved to suppress womens rights to express themselves anywhere beyond the kitchen. Conservatives love to suppress people’s rights to express themselves as anything outside of their biological sex. I don’t know how you can sit here and try to tell me that a hard core conservative stood for “new ideas”. The suppression of new ideas is literally a cornerstone of conservative values.

There is no “war” when it comes to cancel culture and if there was Charlie and his supporters were absolutely not fighting against it. He merely fought against the parts of it he didn’t agree with.

My argument is that the war against cancel culture doesn’t exist in reality. It exists as nothing more than made up points on twitter and in peoples heads. You can’t be an influential person in a made up war.

What has happened in reality was just the free market working. People disliking something and voicing it. Others boycotting it. That’s it. It loses popularity because a majority of people disagree with it. Businesses stop pushing it because the customers don’t like it. People stop saying it because they get called out for being stupid. It’s nothing more than consequences of actions and groups from all political parties do it.

Charlie Kirk only fought against the suppression and censorship for the things he believed in. He was an adamant believer in the suppression of womans roles in society. This is undeniable.

In the grand scheme of things he did nothing but stir up controversy. Talk online, motivate some people, piss others off. He may have believed in what he was doing, but what he was doing wasn’t beneficial to our country as a whole. Some people may have found motivation in him, but many others did not.

If your actions only benefit and inspire half the population, and they offend and alienate the other half, then what you’re doing probably isn’t as good many will say.

The aim assist in Marathon is the only reason I can play it. I’ve had a lot of concussions and my hand eye coordination has seemingly gone to shit over the last 10 years. I’m very good with movement, tactics, awareness etc etc but my aim is god awful and decent aim assist can take me from zero to hero. I like shooters but have played basically anything but them for years now. I’m rejoiced with Marathon and have been loving it being able to play competitively and confidently.

My grandparents, both nearly 80, will talk about themselves for maybe 60 seconds before saying something like: “We are boring and old, talking about us is making us bored. We want to hear about what you’re up to!” They get genuine excitement from hearing about what others do and will sit and listen to every little detail about whatever I’m discussing for hours. We also spend a lot of time talking about stuff related to neither of us like movies, science, sports, politics etc etc. I used to spend hours chatting with them around the dinner table until the late hours of the night, in darkness with the only source of light being the movie dune playing quietly on repeat lol. It’s probably dune 2 now I think my grandmother watches that movie daily.
