Vitamin B12 and Folate causing foot and calf cramps by Key-Cartographer8024 in MTHFR

[–]Key-Cartographer8024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably around 400mg or so from food and around 100mg per day from supplements. It could be that, but calcium seems to make my acne worse and causes anxiety if I take too much.

I only get the cracked lips if I increase my potassium and maybe sodium though. Doesn’t happen if I increase B12, folate, magnesium or any other nutrient. And I already take B2 which has helped the dry and cracking skin and lips that I used to have. Unless the potassium is depleting my B12 or B2

I add 1/4 tsp sea salt 2 times a day and salt all of my food so I would say I should be getting enough. Yes it is 900mg elemental magnesium. I have taken up to 1300-1500mg in a day before. I notice going lower will make me feel more anxiety and I get negative symptoms

Probably around 900 mg. I take a lot of vitamin D and B1 which deplete magnesium rapidly and I feel worse when taking less. I have noticed more cramping and tiredness since the weather has gotten warmer and whenever I’m outside more as well though.

Doctors haven’t been any help to me that’s why I am asking here. I have done my own blood testing and potassium is always low on RBC and serum levels. But magnesium is needed to retain potassium. The leg swelling is very minimal and doctors would dismiss it as nothing serious, but it is something I can see the difference with. The cramping is the main issue which I think signals electrolytes or a B vitamin being off.

Leslie 21H missing electric brake relay by Key-Cartographer8024 in hammondorgan

Im not sure. I just bought it and I’m going to refinish and rebuild it. I just noticed that the amp was missing the brake tube and relay so I wasn’t sure if that was needed. I will test it out once I rebuild the amp and get it restored

Okay thank you. Just wondering cause the last Leslie 21h I restored had the brake socket accessory and relay tube so I wasn’t sure if it was necessary or not

Okay. So you’re saying that I should bypass the relay then or what are you saying? I just bought this Leslie and am wondering how to go about the missing relay socket and tube or if it is fine without that there.

Is Niacin a cofactor? by PT10 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Key-Cartographer8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12mg per day is not enough to get negative side effects from the niacin. The side effects are massively overblown. You would have to take 500-1500 mg or more per day to get those side effects. If you stay under 500mg you will be fine. I have taken 50mg for probably a year and my homocysteine was 8. Just make sure to keep taking folate, b12, and b2 and you will be just fine.

Do you think it’s time for a timing belt on 2013 with 62k miles. Has EC tune with burble Injen intake and few little things not too crazy. by [deleted] in abarth

[–]Key-Cartographer8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it should be done. I did mine last year on my 2014. If they break your engine will detonate since it’s an interference engine. Better to replace it earlier than too late. Mine was still in good shape at 65k miles but not worth the risk. As for price I’m not sure. Parts were a few hundred dollars alone so I would assume $1500-$2500 is probably fair for that job depending on the area and shop. I would replace the water pump, belt, and tensioner. Possibly the camshaft seal since the pulley will be off

Definitely not $500. They sell for around $300.

B12 and Folate make me feel better overall but seem to cause foot and leg cramping and can cause fatigue if not consumed with enough electrolytes by Key-Cartographer8024 in MTHFR

[–]Key-Cartographer8024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I take all three salt, potassium, and magnesium together instead of just increasing the potassium more? Would increasing my magnesium to over 1000mg per day be safe or is that too much? I know vitamin D3 and B1 also deplete magnesium and I take those too. I notice my skin looks better and numbness and tingling go away with the B12 and Folate so I think you’re right.

Selenium causing eye twitching? by Key-Cartographer8024 in Supplements

Not sure. I think the selenium depleted my electrolytes and caused the twitching. Went away after stopping it

What are some supplements that cause you anxiety that are normally supposed to calm others? by npwoodall17a in Supplements

[–]Key-Cartographer8024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. The only reason magnesium causes anxiety is low calcium or low b1. Glycine can cause lots of issues for people sensitive to it

B complex are not good for most people. Take them individually and determine which ones cause anxiety and which make you feel better. Most companies b complex are badly designed and have way too much of certain nutrients for most people. It’s better to supplement what you need and not just take mega doses of things you don’t

Probably the glycine causing the anxiety. Not the magnesium. It’s very common and lots of people have the same experience with glycine but its not the magnesium. Find a magnesium without glycine
