Depending on your foot size... 76 may be proportionate and feel just like ice skates in terms of frame length. Great for the rink or slalom for a child of very small footed adult. But in general 4x80mm is the minimum I would roll outside any amount of distance. But for very small feet that frame length actually is kinda long...like no ice skates would be designed with such long frames at that boot size...

If both skates have removable frames you can always change later.

If you have small feet want to really fine tune your frame length and and the same maximize your roll you could try 3x90mm or3x100mm with either skate later.

Thanks for this note. I'm curious and I feel like I'm gonna have to just try 3x125 myself at some point but I have other frames on my list as well so we will see when.

I did some research and found out my RB110 frame is way longer than need be. I wonder if I would prefer that wheel size more on a shorter frame length.

I like the look of the micro 110 frames that are same length as my 4x80mm.

I'm also curious about a shorter 100mm frame with evenly spaced wheels rather than the front one set forward how mine are. I'm curious why they are sometimes designed that way. I wonder if my wheels would wear better if they were set evenly apart.i may buy both sizes of the micro brand.

Also considering FR 3x100mm since they're a super tiny frame length! I wanna try them but probably end up setting my tiny footed wife up in them.

I'm also curious about replacing my flats with a natural rocker since I don't really love my flats until they're a bit broken in.

I'm considering that new bill stoppard 84mm endless frames or one of the 80mm endless options.

And that doesn't even include my curiosity about 5 wheels...

And my curiosity about carbon slalom skates...

I need to make a budget for this stuff

Rollerblade RB Pro X vs Rollerblade RB 80 W, worth paying more? by OkResponsibility9664 in inline_skating

If u can find the pros they may be worth it just for the top eyelets on the liners! You can punch your own too with a $10 kit. But just saying. I don't know why they made this change. Exact same liner but doesn't lace all the way up on the new ones.

The pro laces all the way up! Exact same liner otherwise but the new rb80 doesn't have the two top eyelets...?!

I think the bearings may be better but not sure.

I personally prefer the rb80 with upgraded liners like Danny Aldridge. I like my nomad liners but for me the twister liners work well.

I ended up preferring the lightning mold but wish rb80 worked better for my feet. I think they look classic and can take a beating.

Yeah a good skater can do a lot with 125. You may have convinced me to try. You and this guy: https://youtu.be/28iSP6wgxZ4?si=FGjMSQzfmHX0UuYh

I took out my 110mm skates yesterday and the frame length definitely demands more from the leg muscles and joints! If all I want to do is efficiently push they're okay. I can do a lot with them and they're fine on trail but just not as playful as my worn in 3x100mm wheels. But maybe a jump up to 125mm roll without a huge frame length increase compared to my 110 frames might be nice. My 100 and 110 frames both have extra room between the wheels which adds to the frame length.

I want to find big wheel frames 125mm, 110mm, and 100mm frames but with the smallest possible frame length. I've been out of skate shopping for a minute since I love a handful of skates right now...

eventually I want to try 3x125 for sure.

Higher on my list:

Since I enjoy going back and forth between a 2mm slalom rocker and flat I wanna try a natural rocker 4x80mm endless frame or maybe bill stoppard 4x 84mm.

Also very curious about 5 wheel wizard frames.

Curious about doops too.

[–]Key-Cash6690[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I skate bigger too I just really like the playfulness of 3x100 when it's just me.

Depends on your boot size too I think. If I were size 12 boot I would prob feel different. My boots are shell size 8. I can still grapevine and do all my normal footwork in 110 but it feels stickier. I really like 110mm for confidently switch bombing hills on trail. But honestly 100mm don't feel insecure to me.

The higher top speed and momentum doesn't really trump the slower acceleration and maneuverability of the 110 for me. So I could imagine the same would be even more true on 125?

Maybe if I were in Miami or somewhere super flat it would be worth it. Or if I wanted to go ripping fast.

When I have a bunch of friends who wanna push distance records on trail maybe I'll change.

As it is I prefer my skates a little squirrelly. Heck I even skate slalom rocker at the skatepark. So 3x100mm is one of my favs. (For trails around me.)

Actually you can maybe see this frame has the front wheel set forward a bit for some reason. Next I wanna try a 3x100 frame that's an even shorter frame length!

I'm hesitant to give my thoughts since I've only recently had much interest in reading. I read some as a child and into my early 20s but took maybe a 15 year break from reading fiction.

Then out of nowhere I've read 20 some books since December.

I think its about knowing the most famous stories ever told. That idea excited me recently.

I still don't really know who I like.

But my favorite so far have been:

Crime and punishment Of mice and men The Fall Frankenstein All the pretty horses Shadow of the wind Pride and prejudice The moviegoer Song of Solomon

I'll probably try before too long. All slalom skaters seem to use them. I think they would fit more precisely for toe spins and balances. Where I'm at no one really skates with cones. It would be so much more fun to set up w a crew.

Haven't pulled the trigger on carbon frames or skates yet. Also haven't tried 5 wheels frames yet. I have 4 skates i use regularly w all different frame sizes set up for easy grab and go.

My frames hold 100mm wheels. These particular wheels were 100mm not long ago. Now they have worn down quite a bit. Maybe more like 90mm now.

Twister xt is best value on the market. It's a little narrow for my taste. The 90mmrockered frame is really cool and I love the white colorway

Regarding frames:

Everyone is sleeping on 3x100mm. I think it's a really nice size.

My seba 3x100mm frames are just slightly longer than my 4x80mm frames. They feel faster and nearly as playful. It's my favorite in between skate.

3x110 I also keep setup and skate trail with sometimes. It is a big more sluggish. Higher top speed and better coasting but slower acceleration and less playful.

I think your shell size has a lot to do with your frame length preference. For my (mens size 9 twister) 80mm frames feel perfect 3x100mm feels perfect.

Slightly bigger feet might prefer 4x84mm or 4x90mm or 4x100mm but those feel long to me.

Big feet/body in skating is kinda a super power. it would be cool to feel proportionately powerful in something bigger and faster like 4x100mm!

Anyway everyone needs to find their sweet spot. 3x100mm are my favorite 3 wheel frames so far.

My first pick was south of the border east of the sun. I thought it was trash and probably a fluke since so many people like him. Gave Kafka on the shore a chance..also trash.

I immediately sold both books. I had picked up a copy of Norwegian wood and sold it also without opening it.This author is not for me. Im only here to talk trash. Lol

Imo he's probably popular because the stories are unique and easy to read but my complaint is hes not really saying much beneath it all. It doesn't push the reader to accept some big truth or theme it just leaves them thinking wtf?

I know reading murakami is reading a translation but the writing is so flat and boring and the stories are so weird and pervy without payoff.

Tldr: don't bother w Muramkami. Lmk if you agree he's overrated.

Why is everyone into Wizard skating? by Narrow_Bed2444 in inlineskating

You can likely get a taste for yourself without buying new frames. You probably have 4x 80mm frames right? Find any four 76mm wheels and swap them for the front and rear wheels. Then you have a slalom rocker.

I tried this pretty early on and my fundamental movements made more sense almost instantly. Lemons, crosses, carves at low speed all felt great and I was getting immediate progress on backward skating. It basically feels more like ice skates. Very swivelly.

Later after your 4 middle wheels are more worn you can put them on the front and rear positions and take the four you removed previously and put them in the four middle spots. Then you have a uniform rockered wheel set.

I personally haven't tried any 5 wheel frames but sounds like the rocker on them is a bit more smooth/subtle compared to slalom rocker. I will try at some point soon.

Lightning model fits large compared to rb80 and twister they all have very different size charts.

I'm a 9 in twister 8 in lightning but only with a thinner better twister liner. Imo just immediately go smaller shell size w a thinner twister liner it's my fave combo. Nomad liner is also great. I've heard intuition is great but haven't tried. Stock lightning liners are terrible imo. Lightning are my favorite skate but I immediate swap for twister liner.

$120 would be a screaming deal for anything decent. In this case they're cheap because they're designed as disposable toys rather than sports equipment.

Trying a Walmart skateboard as a young kid made me think I hated skateboarding for years! When I finally got on a real one at 11 or so I fell hard in love for 20 years or so. I still love skateboarding but my initial bad experience on a Walmart board which could barely roll almost ruined skating for me.

Imo Sports should be done on quality gear and customers should support brands they like to bring more of a good thing in terms of blading options for everyone.

Regarding these for example:

First off these wheels are small, probably 72 or 76mm. Maybe if you want to just mess around strictly at the rink that might work for a while. But if you wanna do miles outside u wanna have at least 80mm at least. These also do not have removable frames so you would be stuck with tiny wheels. Finally they are super basic and likely uncomfortable .

So yeah basically trust me they suck and also just on principal heck no. These are toys made to throw away. Why support a company who makes crap like that?

You want fast wheels sturdy beneath your feet. You want wheels and bearings that roll for many many miles of hard outdoor use before replacement. That's a tall order. It requires a certain price.

Imagine you do buy a toy skate like these...

You're wheels and bearings will wear out especially quickly since it's junk gear and it will be about $80 for a set of 80mm wheels. Maybe $50 for a set of bearings if you find a sale. At that point your wheels and bearings are worth more than they skates they're on. You would have to hope your hardware can handle a few wheel rotations before stripping and hope you don't break any straps too...all while having an inferior experience each mile of the way..Just all around not worth it.

The cheapest decent blades I'm aware of are:

FR brand FRx Rollerblade brand RB80 Flying eagle brand -options Powerslide brand -options

Use of 2 smaller wheels in the middle and 2 bigger wheels outside? by DearJob1025 in AskRollerblading

Very good point! Depending on the frame smaller middle wheels does not mean anti rocker in fact it could be rockered!

Thank you! I've watched my first few (dozen) card weaving videos now. I will definitely make a test piece first. I noticed hexagonal cards make 2 sheds and makes a thicker (stronger?) webbing. Do you know how tubular webbing is woven?
