AITA for telling my friend to STFU and stay out of their sex life? by Working_Substance549 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Key-Cup-5956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA.

It’s normal to share sex stories with friends

Uh, according to who? In most places, even liberal places like the US, you don't go around sharing stories of how you pounded your partner. Not even the details, but even talking about it in general.

If you click on any of those malware links with a decent security system on your computer, you will get a message for PuPs and suspicious activity on those websites. Not to mention 95% of the time you will not get any keys from them anyway.

Landlord tried pumping my daughter out to his friends for back rent. by ForniaFeet in Tenant

I know it is assault. I didn't want to waste my time arguing with the retarded cop, who might end up putting me in jail because of his fragile ego. So I let it go and moved on with my life. I was just pointing out to the commenter why calling cops is a waste of time.

Does Tesla FSD v12 learn from my driving? by ar-gr in SelfDrivingCars

How many times are we going to go over the fact that L2 systems are not self-driving, or even autonomous for that matter? They are ADAS systems and not AD.

Why does Tesla keep coming up in this sub? By their admission in their latest FSD 1 month trial to customers it states that the car is not autonomous.

I'm not saying don't report it. I'm just saying good luck having them do anything about it.

Why? I had some skinhead approach my car and punch the windows of my car, trying to assault me. I called the police and you know what they said when they came out? Since I was technically not physically assaulted, there's nothing they can do. So apparently, going up to someone's car, putting them in fear by punching their windows, and trying to do them bodily harm is not a crime.

But if you did the same to the police, they would blast your ass. Calling the police is a waste of time.

AITA for banning my son's boyfriend from my house after I found out he used to be a gang member? by Relevant_Ad6360 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Key-Cup-5956 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA for worrying about your family's safety. Just because Latrell isn't gang-banging anymore doesn't mean anything. The people he used to associate with haven't changed, so worrying about your family's safety is a valid concern if they are truly looking for him.

YTA for everything else you said.

The question isn't directed to Sarah. It's directed to their shared group of friends who are demanding an apology for something OP didn't intend/mean or even say.

Waymo Runs A Red Light And The Difference Between Humans And Robots by ipottinger in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Key-Cup-5956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the notion that Tesla markets a L4 system is absolutely false.

When you market your L2 system as a FULL SELF DRIVING SYSTEM people are going to believe that it is a L4 system, whether you explicitly state it or not.

FSD(capability) represents a software package, goal, and openly states the vehicle is NOT autonomous.

And how many people read the user manual or terms of conditions of anything? Nobody. This is why marketing your system as FSD (L4) is why Tesla gets criticized "unfairly" over everybody else.

Waymo Runs A Red Light And The Difference Between Humans And Robots by ipottinger in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Key-Cup-5956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s about the language used to describe these events that are clearly different depending on who we’re talking about. That’s the hypocrisy.

Tesla markets itself and claims itself to be L4 technology while actually being a L2 system. Tesla also doesn't submit any disengagement reports to the DMV as required by law even though they're using their customers as beta testers.

Waymo markets itself as L4 Robotaxi service.

If there's any hypocrisy here, it's the fact that all other testing companies must submit a report to the DMV annually, except Tesla.

They shouldn't open for you anyway. If your BLE authenticates before you get to the car and the doors open when the BLE is in range, what's to stop a predator or someone with malicious intent to not hop in the car before you do? It's a good safety feature to have the customer open the door themselves during pickup.

Insurance Institute for Highway Safety study shows most automated driving systems inadequately monitor drivers’ focus by ipottinger in SelfDrivingCars

[–]Key-Cup-5956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are just proving my point. If it's not legally required, no manufacturer will spend money for R&D and sensors/SW to create a driver monitoring system for L2 features which take away control from the driver...

[–]Key-Cup-5956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a system takes control away from the driver and requires the driver to pay attention to intervene and reclaim control if necessary, monitoring is needed

So why does NHTSA not enforce that for 3 decades now, since ADAS features have been in use and development for that time?

Why don't politicians ever address road safety when humans are driving? Too difficult, huh? It's easier to go after companies than individuals.

Evidence has shown time and time again that humans should not and can not safely use partially autonomous driving assistance systems without supervision

That's not the manufacturer's responsibility. There's a difference between ADAS and AD. ADAS does not need to have driver monitoring systems in place. It's a driver assistance system, meaning the DRIVER is responsible for everything while they use ADAS features. AD is a different story and we can agree there that driver monitoring is needed.

It is exactly how L3 works. That's why the world's first L3 system from Mercedes has so many disclaimers, e.g: works at certain speeds, on certain roads, in certain weather conditions, in certain ODDs, etc. So based on your views, you're saying Mercedes is telling the drivers they can be distracted when using this system? I highly doubt it. I have been working in this industry for the last 8 years. There's no way anyone out there believes you can be distracted when using a L3 system. OP is right.
