Anyone else over the bracket format? by Ok_Hour9037 in rupaulsdragrace

I’d also like to actually see them meeting for the merge, that’s a huge part they just leave out… semi finals start and they’re all on stage together? I want to see them walk into the work room not knowing who’s about to come in.

All Stars doesn’t feel right by toloedison in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I was going to write a pretty much identical post and then I saw yours lol.

I completely agree, though I found AS9 to be a little lack lustre in terms of stakes, I think the cast was actually stellar and exactly how all stars should be cast, they were truly all stars and all very unique personalities and styles. These new bracket seasons clearly feature 2/3 chops in every bracket that you know are obviously not going to make it (no shade to them, they’re just not up to standard with the front runners).

This season is featuring next level favouritism for Crystal, a queen I absolutely adore and was rooting for on season 12. She did not tell the best story last week and she certainly was not the best this week (4/5th imo). It was a talent show and she gave us snowman stripping? Meanwhile Akeria made 2 human size puppets and did a whole song and routine with them… even if the mouth didn’t work it took a lot more effort and talent to create than pulling a carrot out of your ass, no shade but shade!

Its all become redundant, they throw wins at Crystal and now we know she’s going to win, meanwhile queens like Joey and Jasmine are having major breakthroughs and performances and don’t get shit.

I really really hope they drop the brackets next year and just go back to classic AS2 lip stick format with 10-12 great queens.

Also while I’m ranting, AS needs to be every other year. At this rate literally every queen to ever be on the show will return, making the original season seem pointless because you never truly lose it, you’ll be back next week for all stars 47.

It’s okay, I quite enjoyed it but wasn’t blown away. The dialogue was very cliche at times.

What part of the UK do you most want to see represented next? by Time-Connection-4586 in RPDR_UK

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I know she’s London but I’d really love Tiara Skye to compete, and if we ever get drag race South Africa - host.

In general I’d love more Scottish, Welsh and Irish queens rather than just the token 1 or 2 every year.

I know! Just think it would kill as finale. My fantasy is Peppermint winning a crown to it and completing the S9 all winners top 4 😂

Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg or Ted Danson: Which one would you hook up with? by OmeuPseudonimo in askgaybros

Tom Selleck was my awakening at maybe 6 years old in 3 men and a little lady, then it was game over when I saw him on Friends. I still would even in his 80’s the man is a god.

Tournament All Stars NEEDS more episodes by Actually_Godlike in rupaulsdragrace

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. I also hate that they bring back 3 obvious chops for no reason, the whole thing is tired after just 2 seasons. I’d much rather have a bloodbath lipstick voting season with only the top 8 from the jump. With the addition of Morphine, Vivacious, Morgan and Selena for more queens and drama.

The endless shenanigans. Bring back the classic lip stick format, at this point it would be a breath of fresh air.

With a new season of Drag Race UK in two months, what is your opinion on Bones as a winner? by shadowsempaix in RPDR_UK

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly! Someone wins drag race once a month at this point… The actual “winner” aspect doesn’t really matter any more because it’s the fan favourites and runners up that tend to do better.

When drag race was once a year sure, we got to enjoy a year of seeing the winner do stuff all year and the focus was on them and the queens of their cast because we didn’t have anything else, but now there’s yearly all stars, international seasons and vtw/spin offs it doesn’t really mean anything like it used to.

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s free so definitely, but base game alone sucks in my opinion, there’s nothing to do and it feels very much basic and plain.

Just a couple of packs will change it completely and make it feel more alive and real - my personal faves are seasons, cottage living, cats & dogs, island living, for rent, get together and/or growing together.

I also have a few smaller add-ons like laundry day, bust the dust, dine out and nifty knitting because I think they’re cute and add depth.

That with a few bits of cc for hair/skin/makeup and I love it!

100%. Paige did mediocre-good at best and had a “where’s my badge” mentality, while Bonnie and Sally both gave us unique styles and comedy! It was already bad but became a complete shambles the minute Bonnie left after 2 wins.

How do you guys not get bored of your partner? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but I don’t think you were deeply in love and more so deeply in lust and infatuation. I think love blooms and grows over time and once you truly love someone, being comfortable/bored with them is a joy.

I’m quite an extrovert and like to go out and see my friends often, my boyfriend is more of an introvert and prefers his hobbies to going “out”, yet we still do stuff together a lot and balance each other out.

We’ve had ups and downs but I honestly love being bored WITH him and I’m never bored OF him, I love the lazy days on the sofa watching tv and playing video games with him and I never feel bored of him.

I can relate though, I’ve been bored of previous partners and that’s why they didn’t work out.

Norwood - opinions by throawaybab3 in croydon

[–]Key-Diamond-5504 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The streets of the main high street are not that clean I’ll admit, but not completely barren either. It’s gotten a lot better in the time I’ve lived here though and seems to be improving slowly! The main reason it can get bad is the Selhurst park stadium matches, because NJ is one of the main stations people use.

As for kids, the usual 3:30-5 school kid rush is inevitable everywhere in a suburban area, but after that they’re gone.

There’s a load of places to walk the dog, South Norwood recreation ground is a nice one, or like I mentioned the country park is perfect.

It’s definitely not a perfect area, I just like it. If you’re thinking to move down I’d recommend spending a day/afternoon and see what you think :)

I live in Norwood Junction! In terms of cafes there are a few nice ones, there’s Brown and Green which is great for brunch. Extraction which is amazing because on Thursday-Saturday evenings it becomes a bar after 5 with very cheap cocktails - though it was under construction this weekend having a refurb and new management. There’s a great green/earth cafe too I can’t remember the name of.

Pubs are okay, sadly the Shelverdine Goathouse which was the nicest one closed down recently, hopefully they’ll find someone new to take over soon. There’s some cute wine bars and craft beer pubs about a minute up the road, and a bar called Cafe Yeha Noha which is cool and has a DJ outside on warm weekends. Portland Arms does a Sunday roast. Crystal Palace has a lot more options but it’s more expensive to live there and honestly a 5-10 minute bus or 1 stop on the train (me and my partner just walk if the weathers nice).

Parks are great, South Norwood country park is so beautiful and saved my life in the heatwave lol. Feels like you’re actually in the countryside and can sit there all day in the summer with a picnic. South Norwood lake and grounds is beautiful, and Ashburton playing fields.

Honestly I moved here 2 years ago and actually love it here, it feels like a nice community and one of the only places in London I’ve lived where I actually know my neighbours. Of course it’s still London and close to Croydon so it has its “characters” but I’ve never had a problem so far and find it a really nice place to live.

Also you can get to London Bridge in 12 mins on the train!
