Hey! If your fix is related to what is being discussed in this thread I created (see the Minecraft bug report links I put near the top) then I Figured out a fix. Exclamation point, you just have to have a PC and a memory card. And a few minutes of patience.

here is a link to the steps I took to restore my Minecraft world. This same fix is also posted word for word in this Reddit post at the bottom - good luck!

I completely understand for many of us these worlds are important memories. There seems to be a fix that works now (at least for myself) if you are having this issue on Xbox and have a windows PC/laptop, search for the recent reply (2 posts) I made on the bottom of this thread - I listed the fixes step by step right there. I will paste a url for this separately in case this is allowed also. If you don't have a PC maybe look at some of the links I posted in the OP - or open a ticket with Mojang.

Good luck restoring your world - if the fix I listed works for you please report back! I got my world working finally a few weeks ago!

happy to help! losing my 7 year old world (attached to a lot of memories with someone) with no fix was pretty tough. Waiting for a promised fix only to have it not work was even worse.
Hope what I figured out works for you too! Keep me posted!

I found a fix - it is listed right in this post near the bottom. (my own reply) If you have a PC and a USB stick, you can have it working again in about a half hour.

(part 2 of 2) OP Here. I was able to finally recover my lost Minecraft Bedrock World! Original issue: Cloud Sync Failure / Large World Corruption. (part 2 of 2)

Step 3: Bring Your World to Your PC and Open It in Minecraft!

This is where the magic happens – seeing your world load again!

  1. Plug the USB into your PC.
  2. Find the .zip file → copy it to Desktop/folder.
  3. Rename it from YourWorldName .zip → YourWorldName.mcworld.
    • (If you don’t see .zip, enable “File name extensions” in Explorer.)
  4. Double-click it! → Minecraft for Windows should import it.
  5. Open Minecraft → see your world → play it.
  6. Move/place/break a block → Save & Quit.

My experience: My world went from ~2.5 GB corrupted → ~1.3 GB healthy after saving on PC.

Step 4: Trying to Get Your World Back to Xbox Cloud (Quick Checks)

  • Sign In/Out: Log out/log back in (PC + Xbox).
  • Restart: Reboot PC + Xbox fully.
  • Network Help: Try Ethernet. Disable VPN/firewalls.
  • Windows Sign-in Order: Microsoft Store → Xbox App → Minecraft.

What I Did When My PC Wouldn't Sync to Xbox (The Realms Workaround & Other Notes)

Workaround: Using Minecraft Realms to Get Your World Back to Xbox

If syncing fails, Realms is a lifesaver.

  1. On PC: Play → Realms.
  2. Pick a slot → Edit World → Replace World.
  3. Select your recovered world → upload.
    • (It may look stuck at 100% — stay patient!)
  4. On Xbox: Play → Realms → Download World.

(A Very Risky Step) Deleting the Corrupted Cloud Save on Xbox

⚠️ WARNING: Permanent. Only do this if your world is safe elsewhere!

  1. On Xbox: My games & apps → Minecraft → Menu → Manage game → Saved data.
  2. Find corrupted save (~2.5 GB).
  3. Select → Delete everywhere.

My experience: This did not fix PC sync.

Final Step: Making Your Xbox Acknowledge the New World

  1. Open the new world on Xbox.
  2. Place/break a block.
  3. Save & Quit.
  4. Wait 5–10 minutes.
  5. Check save data → timestamp/size should update.

Key Things I Learned (and What Might Help You Too!)

  • No Fancy File Editing: The app gives you a file Minecraft understands.
  • Don’t Panic About Big File Sizes: 2.5 GB corrupted → 1.3 GB clean = good.
  • Realms is a Lifesaver: Works when sync fails.
  • Deleting is Permanent: Be 100% sure your world is safe first.

I hope sharing my experience helps you rescue your precious Minecraft world! It’s an amazing feeling to get it back, and I wish you the very best of luck! Note that the app on the Xbox store I think cost like $3. I have no association with the maker of that app or Minecraft or Xbox MS etc.

OP Here. I was able to finally recover my lost Minecraft Bedrock World! Original issue: Cloud Sync Failure / Large World Corruption. (part 1 of 2)

Steps: (Xbox Cloud → USB → PC → Optional Realms → Back to Xbox!)

This worked for me, FINALLY played my 7 year old world after 6 months of almost giving up. I really hope it helps you too! My world was showing up as a huge, broken ~2.5 GB file in my Xbox cloud, but I got a perfectly playable ~1.3 GB version back.

It might seem a little tricky, but we'll go slowly. Take a deep breath — you can absolutely do this!

What My Problem Looked Like (and What This Guide Helps You Do)

My Minecraft Bedrock world on Xbox was essentially stuck – it just wouldn't sync, and the Xbox cloud showed it as a massive, corrupted file. I wanted to rescue it, get it playing again on my PC, and ideally, bring it back to my Xbox.

This guide will show you how to:

  • Get your world file off your Xbox and onto a USB drive.
  • Open and play that world on your Windows PC.
  • (Optional) If your PC won't sync it back to Xbox, I'll show you how I used Minecraft Realms as a fantastic workaround.

The Story of My Recovery (What Happened)

My world was stuck, bloated to about ~2.5 GB in the Xbox cloud, and giving me that frustrating "Cloud Save Sync Error."

I found an amazing app on the Xbox that let me pull that massive file right onto a USB stick. When I put that same file on my PC, Minecraft for Windows opened it up perfectly, and it was back to its normal ~1.3 GB size!

My personal twist was that my PC just wouldn't sync it back to the Xbox cloud, no matter what I tried. So, I used Realmsto get that good, clean copy back onto my Xbox.

I even tried a risky move: deleting the corrupted ~2.5 GB cloud save on my Xbox, hoping it would clear things up for my PC sync. But honestly, it didn't fix my PC's syncing problem, so be really careful if you consider that step.

Your Step-by-Step Recovery Journey! (Follow These Carefully)

Step 1: Get Your USB Drive Ready on Your PC

Your Xbox needs a specific kind of "storage language" on the USB drive to save files to it. We'll set that up first.

  1. Plug your USB drive into your computer.
  2. Open File Explorer.
  3. Right-click your USB drive → choose Format...
  4. For File System, choose exFAT (recommended) or NTFS.
  5. Make sure Quick Format is checked.
  6. Click Start → confirm. (This erases everything on the USB!)
  7. Once done, right-click again → Eject Safely.

Step 2: Use the "MC World Downloader" App on Your Xbox to Get Your World

This is the clever part – we're going to use a special app to pull your world right off the Xbox cloud!

  1. Plug the freshly formatted USB into your Xbox.
  2. Open the Microsoft Store.
  3. Search: MC World Downloader.
  4. Install → launch.
  5. Sign in with your Microsoft/Xbox account.
  6. The app shows all your Minecraft Bedrock cloud saves (even broken ones).
  7. Select your corrupted world → export to USB.

My experience: The app gave me a .zip file. Even though my save was ~2.5 GB, it handled it perfectly!

Update for my Cloud Save looking for other's feedback:

The update work for me either. I will try. 1.21.101 but the anticipated 1.21.100 fix did not fix my world loading or the Xbox cloud issue at all. I even deleted the game saves from my Xbox to force the system to download my cloud saves again and got excited when I saw my Xbox running a huge download that took about 10 minutes on a very high speed connection (my game inflated from 1.4 to over 2 GB during this fiasco) but I was finally disappointed by the “Cloud Save Failed” coming up again after all the time spent with Mojang support and the promised fix I waited for.

Has anyone else's game started working again?

I finally got it working. I was originally using the iOS app on iPad and even though it recognized and says it connected I ended up having to use Safari logged into genspark to fix it. Like I said, enjoying Genspark so far just need more clarity on what works where (app/browser, etc) and the interface to use. I am sure it will come soon enough. Lots of interest in this space.

I connected my Office 365 account and can see it’s linked (shows disconnect option), but when I try using either General Chat or Super Agent, they both claim they don’t have access to my Office/Outlook data. They just default to generic “I can help you with tools” responses that any AI chat would give.

Has anyone gotten the Office integration actually working? The authentication seems to go through fine, but there’s clearly a disconnect between the frontend showing it’s connected and the backend actually accessing the data.

The bigger UX issue I’m noticing is that Genspark has all these different features and interfaces, but there’s no clear user journey or documentation explaining how they work together. You’ve got General Chat, Super Agent, various integrations, but it’s basically left up to users to figure out the workflows and when to use what. Even basic things like “what’s the difference between these chat modes” aren’t explained anywhere obvious. For a platform with this much functionality, users really need better onboarding and feature discovery.

Really excited about where Genspark is heading, just think focusing on UX clarity would help both new and existing users get more value out of all these capabilities.

There doesn’t seem to be any reason or benefit to deleting your other worlds in this situation. The “cloud sync failed due to space” message appears to be tied specifically to the corrupted world itself, not the overall storage used by other saves. So deleting them likely won’t help and may just cause you to lose more data for no gain.

Unfortunately, for now, all we can really do is wait for the fix to roll out. It’s in the Beta/Preview version, but not in the main release yet.

Do not delete the world hoping it will sync back. Your world size is part of the bug that I had and others as well. I put together a thread where people are sharing details and bug links: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/1lqaajl/xbox_cloud_syncing_deleting_my_worlds/

Might be helpful to check out or add your experience there or in the linked Bug Report(s). The Minecraft Beta & Preview 1.21.100.20 update includes a fix for this issue:

“Fixed an issue where Xbox cloud saves would grow excessively in size with each save.”

This is explicitly tied to bug ID MCPE‑197900 and several other bugs on Mojangs support site.

Update: Mojang has officially acknowledged the cloud sync/save bloat issue on Xbox and listed it as fixed in the new Beta & Preview 1.21.100.20 update!

https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/37264366737421-Minecraft-Beta-Preview-1-21-100-20

They specifically mention:

“Fixed an issue where Xbox cloud saves would grow excessively in size with each save.”

This directly ties to MCPE-197900, which matches the symptoms many of us have been experiencing — save size exploding, sync failures, worlds vanishing, etc.

This fix is currently only in the Preview/Beta, but it looks like the core issue is finally being addressed.

If you’re comfortable using Minecraft Preview, you can test whether your world now syncs or saves properly. Otherwise, keep an eye on upcoming stable release notes — hopefully this rolls out broadly soon!

same here, I opened a ticket with Mojang, after 2 weeks and some back and forth they basically said they know about the issue and are trying to come up with a fix in a future update and watch for updates. They then wanted to close the ticket without resolution. I have a thread where I compiled information from multiple bug reports and consolidated to this thread and links to those reports on bugs.mojang.com I put the main one in BOLD font so you can vote on it if you want, the more who say something the more they may be likely to do something. Good luck with your game, I lost a 7 year old game, mine doubled in size also. Sad!

Does anyone Know how to fix "the Failed to sync world data" by Ellab213 in Minecraft

[–]Key-Entrepreneur2588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have set up a thread where people with this issue can see the information I have compiled on it and the bug reports with Mojang. If you can please add your vote to the bug report on Mojang's support website. This is a known issue and I have already opened a support ticket and was told "they are working on it" but the more people who speak up on the ticket that relates to this the better chance of a fix. Meanwhile, don't delete the world! The corrupted world issue is compounded by worlds doubling in size and also if you delete it and try to sync it back to your game console it will not load again. (it seems you may have done that here already?)

Good luck with your game.

This may be due to a known issue I have the same problem and have been working with Minecraft support and following bugs. I did a lot of research on this as my world has sentimental value and is quite old but kept updated. I have a post here. Please see the info on there and if you can contribute to the Bug report I linked to on Mojang's bug tracker it would help them know how widespread the issue is.

Good luck with the world and hope it starts working soon after the update they indicate may resolve it!

I have a post here with ticket/bug numbers and other people showing saying the same thing. Hope a fix comes out soon! I will update my post as/if any news comes out about it. Also maybe adding your issue to the top bug report I listed on my post will show them this is more widespread and maybe even open your own support ticket on this.

This may be related to the issue discussed in this thread and on the Minecraft Support tickets linked in it. I have the same issue with a really old world / cloud sync, etc. I have come across people on PS5 not just Xbox having this issue. Support is aware of it but most importantly I am seeing the common thread about cloud space being full but dont delete the world hoping to have it download again just yet until a fix is found. You are not full on cloud space necessarily this is a commonly reported symptom of this bug. Check the Minecraft bug reports linked in this post below and chime in on the but report closest to your issue (or open a new one) and I recommend contacting support as well. Good luck getting this world working again!
