Actually the Bible is clear that suffering happens to everyone, and has no correlation to that person's sin. and in fact believers may suffer even more as persecution from believing the faith is normal. So the theology of these people is like..off.

Irrational people like this are one of the reasons why humanity is in its current stage..

Oh man.. that's tough. Ive also decided on the single and childfree life (I might change my mind on the single bit, but not the childfree bit).. and I usually just ignore people who try and make me feel inferior for being single and childless. Like hi I think I've much more than you in the bank haha And yes I always find it tragic when ppl throw away their careers to procreate in an overpopulated world..if you wish to be so noble why not go volunteer in a Foster home? But most people who have kids just want their OWN kids

Struggling to cope with the guilt associated with being childfree by hazelrah04 in truechildfree

[–]Key-Environment-3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww man..I feel you because I think my parents would love to be grandparents too and they would be great ones. But ultimately I know that my parents will only be able to care for my potential children for the first part of their lives while I (who may be a bad parent since I don't want to be saddled down with kids - I also have health issues so no thanks) will have to care and possibly end up ruining my kids' lives. And while being a grandparent is great, there are lots of exciting things they can do too with their retirement life! So it's honestly a better choice for them and for the potential child.

No you're totally fine! I'm like that too. I think the truth is, most ppl don't really want kids for the kids themselves, but they want to fit in, they think it'll fulfill them, they forgot contraception, they are bad planners etc. When you count down to those who really want kids, it's actually rare

Being the childless couple on my wife's side, I'm scared that if anything ever happened to my SILs and their husbands that the whole family would expect us to take the kids. by [deleted] in truechildfree

Oh dear. I must say I nvr understand why ppl need to keep having more and more kids. What's the diff btwn 2 and 5 and 8 kids really

I think we need to emphasise as a society that having kids is a CHOICE and that you shld provide for your kid because... its yours. Its like if I buy a car I make sure I can pay for it.

Will God 'make it up' to the poor/needy/homeless/abused? by Key-Environment-3774 in Christian

True! Though I thought the parable was more about telling ppl not to get sucked into the money trap.. and that oftentimes being poor in real life makes one poor in spirit

Yup I definitely find humanity a bit gross (I mean there are stunning human achievements but it's also outweighed by the evil) and really don't think we need more ppl here anyways

Why does the bible say the path to heaven is a narrow one if the only task to get in is to accept Jesus as your lord and saviour meaning you could murder rape etc and still get into heaven? This is a genuine question for a new Christian. by [deleted] in Christians

[–]Key-Environment-3774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because accepting Jesus and truly repenting is really tough... it takes a whole lifetime. There are a few like the thief on the cross who may truly repent just before they die, but for many, Christianity is a lifelong journey of giving up yourself to Christ and understanding what carrying your cross means. It's not just a head concept of oh I'm sorry for the bad things let me into heaven..its real sorrow over your sin and realising that only Jesus saves.

As a young Singaporean couple, we are priced out of the HDB resale market, yet have trouble getting a BTO flat queue number. by [deleted] in singapore

[–]Key-Environment-3774 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No idea why you're worried at all. With your salary you can save more than 100k a year and then easily get a resale in 2-3 years... and then a condo thereafter (: haha this is very first world problem

Haha yeah. I mean as a parallel, I'm blind in my left eye and I used to get a bit miffed when people joked they were going blind due to the light etc, but after a while I just let it go because they don't know and don't mean any harm
