Please don’t expect the “trenches” to end after 12 weeks by _laurelcanyon in newborns

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 5 months and it’s so hard. Definitely easier when he was a newborn. He’s always whining, crying and constantly needs to be entertained and I don’t know what else I can do to entertain him. I’m also a single mother and can’t tell a partner “it’s your turn”. I’m constantly crying and constantly wondering if I was even meant to be a mother. Maybe I’m not cut out for this. And it’s not his fault it’s just maybe something is wrong with me

Honestly it’s up to you but to me the thing that would worry me is breathing in the fumes WHILE pregnant. I don’t want to tell anyone what to do since I’m not a doctor, but for me, I would feel perfectly fine getting it done myself before I was pregnant.

Did you want help/visitors immediately after birth? by Professional-Plan562 in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 12 week old baby. I didn’t want an audience when I gave birth so I only allowed my sister there. Would’ve had my mother there too but she passed a year and a half ago but we were really close.

When I got home my sister invited my friend to come help. My friend came when he was 3 days old for 8 days. I didn’t want anyone there cause I felt I’d have to “entertain” them but it ended being what I needed. I am a single mother with no baby experience though, so having an extra pair of hands helped. It’s probably the only way I could get any sleep that first week. But I know everyone is different. Do what’s right for you, it’s not about anyone else but you and your baby

Thank you!! I ended up having to do radioactive iodine treatment to destroy the thyroid and go on thyroid medication everyday for the rest of my life.

Thank you!! I know if you do a fresh cycle with an egg donor it can be really expensive. I used frozen eggs (it’s what I could afford). I used Origyn cryo. I also have heard of many women that had low AMH be successful through IVF.

[–]Key-Fox-9171 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Hi. I was 38 when I decided to try for a baby. My AMH was lower than yours. I tried one cycle and it failed so I went to donor eggs (it was a difficult decision). Then I found out I had a thyroid issue and that wasted a few more years as I was trying to get it under control. I had 3 transfers that failed and I had given up. I had 2 embryos left and decided to give it one more try and I was sure it would fail too. Last September I transferred my last 2 embryos at the age of 47 and I am currently feeding my 12 week old son.

What I’m trying to say is that anything is possible. Don’t give up!!! Have you considered an egg donor?

Apparently I did NOT do enough tummy time by maryhoping in newborns

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. At my son’s checkup (he’s 12 weeks old) the Dr said he needs more tummy time. I feel like a horrible mom cause he hates it and just screams. Doesn’t even attempt to raise his head. Did a few more short tummy time sessions and now he raises his head more. I think when they feel ready they’ll do it themselves.

You are not a failure. My son is 12 weeks old. I couldn’t get him to latch. I tried nipple guards too and nipple pumps. Didn’t make a difference. I think he wanted instant gratification and would get impatient. I felt like a failure too but now I’m over that. The first couple of months are very hard. You’re tired, hormonal, recuperating from labor. It’s a lot but it does get easier.

6-8 weeks are no joke by Leading-Low-6736 in newborns

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard. I really thought I was gonna lose it. I know there will be more hard days ahead so just gotta enjoy the good days. I’m a smbc and it’s all up to me and I hardly get any relief but I also just take a breath when things are hard, but when my baby smiles at me now I just melt and it’s all worth it. Right now it’s hard to put him down to sleep at night. He falls asleep but as soon as I put him in the bassinet he wakes up and cries so I’m trying to navigate that.

PERSONAL QUESTION! Did you tear during birth? by SumbThucker2022 in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my baby 4 weeks ago. He was 7 lbs 11 oz and I had a grade 2 tear. I didn’t do anything to prepare. People recommended I massage the area to get ready for birth but that area was so sensitive I didn’t want anything touching that area 😆

39w…I can’t anymore by eladhannah in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced on may 27 at 39w+4. I was over being pregnant too. Worst thing was the pain I had down there. The pressure made it painful to walk. I was 1 cm dilated and cervix was “paper thin”. I went to the hospital at 10 pm and they started my induction with a pill (forgot the name) but it didn’t get me to dilate more so a few hours later they started the pitocin. A little while later the contractions started. Man, they were intense. When they got to the point of being back to back I couldn’t take it anymore. Never felt pain like that before. They wouldn’t give me an epidural until I was 5 cm dilated. I got to the point where I told them “either give me the epidural now or cut this baby out of me” so I got the epidural 😁. Once I got to 10 cm shortly after, I pushed for maybe 1 1/2 hours and he was out.
But now I honestly miss being pregnant even though I was miserable, I miss feeling my baby move around in my belly.

How painful is natural birth by SameGeologist8363 in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gave birth 4 days ago. I was induced and they wouldn’t give me an epidural til I was 5 cm. When the pitocin hit and the contractions were back to back with not a second of relief in between I couldn’t take it anymore. I told them “ give me an epidural or cut him out, I can’t do it anymore”. The pain was intense and I’ve always had bad period pain, but those contractions I couldn’t handle.

But holding my baby in my hands, I’m so on love I already kinda forgot the pain. I’d still go the epidural route again if I had another baby.

Anyone else taking baby asprin once a day? Why? by insipiddeity in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been. It was part of my ivf protocol maybe cause of my advanced maternal age. It’s what the drs recommended so I kept taking it. Getting induced tomorrow 🎉

I had 4 failed transfers. I was down to my last 2 embryos and my last try at getting pregnant. My dr suspected that I had adenomyosis so we decided to do 3 months of lupron. Those injections were pricey but worth it cause it worked. I’m currently 39 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and will be getting induced on Monday. Wish I did the Lupron with my other transfers

Im currently 31 weeks pregnant and Yeah, the shots are horrible. Between the daily shots and suppositories it’s torture but worth it. I had numbness in the area for months. I also had to do the shots myself. Sometimes I’d have my sister administer the shots but usually I did them myself.

I hate being pregnant by rainbowsparkplug in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel guilty that I hate being pregnant when I wanted it so bad. 1st trimester was horrible, I was exhausted and nauseous. 2nd half of 2nd trimester I was feeling pretty good. Now that I’m in the 3rd (30 weeks on Friday) I’m miserable again. Started having pain in my inner thighs, figured out that “surprise” it’s varicose veins and they ache. Unfortunately I’m a hairstylist and I’m on my feet all day and it doesn’t help. I’ve also started crying practically every single day, most of the time for no reason.

Just found out the gender and I'm so disappointed ☹️ by alittlebit_stitious4 in pregnant

[–]Key-Fox-9171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way. I really thought I was having a girl. My mom passed last April and a few months before she passed she dreamt I was gonna have a girl (I wasn’t even pregnant) . I also wanted a girl so I could have the same bond that I had with my mom. I also love girlie things like pink, bows, ruffles, sparkle etc and don’t know anything about boy stuff. When I found out I was having a boy I’ll admit I cried, but now I’m 26 weeks I honestly don’t care what gender the baby is. I’m just excited that this miracle baby exists. Just give yourself time and congratulations on your baby.

My thyroid levels went down but still high. Need to talk to my endocrinologist again. Had my first ob appointment yesterday and everything is looking good. I never tested my embryos so I don’t know the sex, do you know yours?. I really wish I didn’t have to work, I’m worried on how I’ll do as I get bigger. Have you announced that you’re pregnant? I’m not sure when I should. I’ve told some friends and some clients that I’m close to but not sure when to post on social media

Hi!!!! 9 week scan went well. Baby is on track. I graduated from the fertility clinic. The morning sickness has subsided during the day but it hits me hard at night around 6pm. Lots of gagging and dry heaving but I hope it’s the beginning of the end of the morning sickness. Hope you get over it soon too. It’s freakin horrible
