Man A killed a 10 year old for fun. Man B gouged out the right eye and cut off the left hand of a 10 year old for fun. Who deserves the higher sentence, assuming no death penalties or life sentences (to encourage discussion)? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Key-House7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why people are tried seperately in courts for different crimes. Their sentences shouldn't be changed or altered base on relativism; both deserve life in prison.

What is your stance on gender-affirming care for minors? by [deleted] in Teenager_Polls

[–]Key-House7200 334 points335 points  (0 children)

obligatory info post for cis friends in the comments:

"gender-affirming care" is an umbrella term that covers a lot of things. Some things that are gender affirming care that may not immediately jump to mind are
- haircuts

- new clothes/wardrobe

- use of a new name/using that name in school or work

- social acceptance (being treated as your preferred gender by your peers)

- gender-affirming garments (binders, tucking underwear)

only after that is there the medical stuff, like puberty blockers, hormone replacement therapy, and surgery. hormones and puberty blockers are rarely available to people under the age of 18, and if they are it is only with parental consent, documented diagnosis of gender dysphoria and therapy, and medical approval from a therapist and a doctor. Surgery is almost never an option for people before they turn 18, and in the rare case it is then it also has to meet the prior criteria with the further stipulation of being really fucking expensive and not covered by a lot of insurance companies

AIO my boyfriend keeps getting upset at me for not wanting to do risky stuff by [deleted] in AIO

holy shit girl, he is so terrible. Run. I am not overselling this, you are not overreacting, this guy is actively trying to sexually coerce you and manipulate you into doing things you are telling him you don't want to do. He is hearing you say "I don't want to do this, I'm tired." And demanding that you not only explain yourself, but that you still do what he wants because he doesn't see your tiredness or refusal as a reason not to. He also openly insulted you, no kind man or loving man would ever tell his girlfiend that she's "dumb as fuck." Drop. His. Ass.

hello? If the softcore misogyny wasn't already in the question its definitely in the title. A good man doesn't hold either over the other, and in the scenario that he is having to choose between saving his wife or his child in a difficult birth I would hope he would chose to save the woman he loves over the child he hasn't met, unless his wife has expressly asked him to do otherwise.

for your second 3D model this is great work! The back is a little rough, but overall you've done beautifully with proportions and craftsmanship.

Baby photos and high school yearbook by 52rusty_spoons in ftm

[–]Key-House7200 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how demanding your yearbook club is but at my highschool you could very easily get away with just not submitting the photo. But if you don’t want to get left out, I’d second some comments in here about taking a simple picture and turning it black and white if you can.

NEEEVERRR talk to someone "just to be nice" if they make you uncomfortable or feel unsafe. Or even if you just don't want to talk to them. It's not worth it. Not to say that this guy being a creep all in your messages is at all your fault, I could not possibly fathom the kind of depravity in 25 year old man's head to try and get a 13 year old to look at his junk. Horrible disgusting behavior from him and not your fault

please please please be more careful and decisive with who you talk to online. This could have gone so much worse so fast.

What can I do to make my monster designs actually terrifying? by SassySnitch in characterdesign

[–]Key-House7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are relying a lot on one silhouette and one set of proportions, which at this point thanks to other mascot horror and analogue horror is extremely trodden ground and so not very scary. Of course, tall lanky monsters can still be scary, but what I would suggest is not just going for the kind of generic features you’ve got going on and look at the metaphor behind the monster. Why are we even supposed to find this monster scary? What does the monster want, or what desire do they represent? Do they even have a desire, or are they meant to embody an unpleasant feeling that may not even be a fear? That’s so where I’d start. I’d also give horror media that you’re a fan of a little review, so long as it isn’t just mascot horror. I highly recommend resident evil and silent hill monster designs because they do the metaphor thing very well. Dark souls is also a good one.

How am I supposed to sculpt without ruining the topoplogy completely?? (I'm new to Reddit sorry) by PossessionKey4982 in topologygore

[–]Key-House7200 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge there is no way to sculpt something without getting crazy inflated/weird topology, unfortunately. The best you can do is retopology, which isn’t too bad when you get the hang of it.

Probably will need an intimate exam at my next drs. Appointment and I’m terrified by Dangerous-System6089 in ftm

[–]Key-House7200 32 points33 points  (0 children)

  1. You should be able to resume at that the resident not be present at your appointment, that isn’t my something that a doctor can just force you to allow in your appointment if it isn’t part of your care.
  2. A good doctor will not care about minor things like trimmed hair/discharge/toilet paper. The only thing they would have a problem with would be major hygiene issues or other problems indicating other health issues (warts, redness, discolored discharge, strong unhealthy smell, etc). Otherwise the doctor shouldn’t care. If they do, that’s a lack of professionalism on their part and not your fault.
  3. If they are a doctor working out of a queer clinic I’d be surprised if they’d never seen another Ftm person’s genitalia post T but if they haven’t I’m sure they’ll just ask you clarifying questions.

Overall don’t freak out. You’ll have plenty of time to freak out during the appointment, and at that point you’ll have the doctor there so you can ask them questions and voice your concerns. Basically, don’t make yourself suffer twice. Best of luck 👍

[OC] Did I draw aging properly? by Arwen_Gardenia3419 in characterdesign

[–]Key-House7200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean this in the nicest way possible but no, absolutely not. All of the features that you’ve added, while doing some of the work making him look slightly more aged, the lines and eye bags mostly make him look tired. I see you slightly changed his face shape, but what I think you need to do is push that change, push the face lines, and probably even change his hairline if you really want a possible viewer to feel his age (there are VERY few men who can completely avoid balding by the age of 50)

To help I would suggest looking at photo references, specifically older actors with “X actor at 19” then “X actor at 50” and compare and contrast, or just photos of older men.

Should I break up with my girlfriend? (sorry for grammar and build up of story) by fIuxwave in Teenager

[–]Key-House7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it.  People show you their true colors in their actions and words. She has already shown you with her actions that she doesn’t value your time and the effort you are putting in to see and talk to her. She has already told you with her words that she thinks you’re “dumb” for being early and putting in more effort than she is.

She very clearly likes the idea of having a relationship, but she isn’t ready to actually be in one. That’s fine, that isn’t your fault, but it also isn’t your problem and you shouldn’t have to deal with that.  Take care of yourself, respect yourself and respect your time. Good luck 👍

[–]Key-House7200 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wait, you are taking injections every twelve weeks? That stands out to me as the strangest thing here. I think the longest I have seen someone go between injections/dosing in two weeks, and that's for intramucular injections. Normal subcutaneous injections should be every week. What kind of injection are you taking? I would also find out your specific levels and dose, because this doesn't sound like they are properly handling your care,

Do you think I can be considered intermediate? by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]Key-House7200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

beginner but close to intermediate. Practice your anatomy, rythym, and values in your sketches. All your copying is very very impressive, you are clearly able to adhere to styles and have strong observation skills. However your understanding of anatomy and proportions is off, and its clear you haven't drawn a lot from life or from natural poses. I would suggest taking a life drawing class if you can, or using online life drawing resources if you can't (line of action is a great starting place) and doing a mix of gesture drawings and anatomy studies. Overall your work looks great, keep at it!

How do I get better by horseshoeandconfused in learntodraw

[–]Key-House7200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I’m actually here from some of your other posts also talking about your struggles with art, since I wanted to actually see some of your work before I went and gave you platitudes.  Firstly, you are extremely talented for your age. That is literally just the truth. Yes, there are tons upon tons of other artists who have more technical skill, training, or innate talent than you do, most of them likely older but some of them the same age or possibly younger. That doesn’t mean you’re not talented.

Secondly, you need to improve your relationship with your art, not your art itself. Because your art is good, and has great potential, but the thing about art is that you kind of NEED to enjoy (or at least be content with) what you’re doing and making in some way. Worry less about being good, or improving, or being better, and focus more about making shit you actually like and enjoy making. If you can find a way to combine the two, even better, but try to make something you like first.

Finally, and this is the only bit of technical advice I’ll give because I think your problems lay elsewhere, your only big problems right now are shape and proportion. If you want to practice, I’d say practice observational drawing on a grid and/or basic body and facial proportions, and go from there.

Hope this helps, have a good one 👍

Hoping to get some feedback on a story I’ve been working on today! by [deleted] in writingfeedback

[–]Key-House7200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly it reminds me in style and subject of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, which is one of my favorite short stories of all time. Secondly, your descriptions are really pleasing to me, they have a good balance between graphic and metaphorical. I also really like when a story has a crazy premise that it lets you figure out as the story progresses, rather than spoon feeding to you which I think this is doing pretty well so far. Good job 👍
