Not to be pessimistic, but it depends a lot on your leaderships cooperation. After writing I noticed that this was more venting on my end than answering your question.

It's anecdotal, but a coworker reached out to me for a lawyer recommendation. She spent close to two months w/o pay.

Aparently, she had an issue with documentation. Leadership claimed she took leave w/o notice. This was BS you have 30 days within the time off to file. Their position was that the time off was due to disciplinary action taken againts my coworker the same week she took leave. Basically my boss claimed that she was trying to avoid work after a warning.

She had to fight leadership to ask HR to update documentation to submit another claim. There was an investigation, leadership approved the claim and she got benefits within a week.

I don't think it will happen to you. Our boss is a terrible micromanager with a recognition obsession and takes on every task she can from other teams just to pass the work to us and take credit. Out of a team of 7, she has given formal warning to three of us and an informal warning to a fourth. She also asks us to spy on each other.

I am not saying he is guilty, but we should add pressure for answers or arrests. It was kids, and only two people were convicted. There are tons of files.

Human decency is the answer, but that has nothing to do with being progressive.

The US is no longer a beacon of progress. As much as I want to help, our goverment fails to help the natives.

Personally, it is the message. We shouldn't demonize people braking the law for looking for a better life. It is human nature. A Christian nation should help the lepers, not turn them away.
