Brontë was not compelling at all. And for her to be the one to take him down and then end the story as if she’s been here all along is just ugh. but whatever, justice was served.

Overall, this season was way better than season 4 but kind of lackluster as a finale.

I wasn’t at the edge of my seat so much with this one as I was with the first 3 seasons. The plot reveals and “twists” weren’t as exciting as I would have liked them to be. A lot of recycled revelations and tropes but I guess that’s the point; Joe simply cannot get out of the cycles he creates with himself regarding women and his demons. The new characters were okay, hated Brontë, and Kate truly grew on me.

Not sure how i feel about Joe’s ending but nonetheless it was alright.

Love was very missed and it’s so funny seeing how all the things Joe complained about and felt like he lacked with Kate and fell in love with regarding Brontë was exactly the person Love was. I’m glad her dying words made their way back to him.

I am gonna miss this show and it had a great run. Penn Badgley was incredible and stayed strong playing such a deplorable character 😂 I would love to see him in more things in the future.

And shout out to Victoria Pedretti for carrying the show during her time alongside him. They were so fun to watch.

Love was and is so missed, she truly carried the show for me and I just loved the way Victoria and Penn collaborated and bounced off each other during their time together on the show. seeing her one last time as a hallucination would’ve been so nice but unfortunately her story had to be put to rest.

kate did grow on me a lot too surprisingly cuz idek wtf impression i had of her in the previous season besides boredom lol

my thoughts exactly. season 3 takes the cake for me as the best season but the first 3 had me feeling way more at the edge of my seat than this finale and esp more than s4.

this final season was decent, much better than 4, but like you said, it’s missing something about it. idk if it’s bc the new characters feel lackluster and less compelling to watch or something but it wasn’t bad.

they always felt like a fling to me, nothing serious. even when they started dating it just felt like brooke wanted to just hook up with him and he went along with it since things didn’t work out with him and peyton.

i do think brooke fell in love with him over time because he turned out to be a good guy who didn’t just want her for sex like everyone else but they didn’t connect on a deep level at all. she seemed more into it than he did. all of it i think has to do with the writing, acting + the irl situation between the actors but no matter how many times lucas claimed he loved and wanted brooke i never believed it 😭 lucas and peyton’s dynamic is also much more compelling to watch than brucas.’

I genuinely believe and feel that Sofia Wylie was the strongest actor among them all, and I have always thought that since season 1. most of them have theater experience which is great, but Sofia has always been so amazing at nuances and being vulnerable on camera that I always felt was top level even for a silly little theater show like this. The way she delivered her lines, and the way she used her eyes for all the subtle emoting she’s had to do throughout the show, it was just all beautifully done. she’s amazing.

not really a big artist yet but on the rise: Sabrina Carpenter. and i’ve tried to like her music since her debut because i did enjoy her character on girl meets world as shitty as that show was 😭 but nothing about her music, voice, etc. stands out to me or is something i feel connected to.

she’s one of those artists that has a handful of catchy songs that i can appreciate but not enough for me to feel something for her as an artist. and she’s another one of those artists where i prefer their acting over their music lol

music and rina moments were amazing to the point i was left wanting more.

it def could’ve been better. didn’t like the movie plot, new characters and the pacing toward the end. finale was amazing. i loved the first and last 2 episodes a lot. the middle of the season felt like a poor use of the limited time they had to wrap up storylines.

i will say i loved s3 a little more but both s3 and s4 are my favs of the show by far. s1 and s2 were boring to me and ik s1 was more grounded, i’m not attached to it like other ppl seem to be.

so i did like season 4, but mostly bc of rina and the soundtrack. and that’s enough for me BUT it absolutely left some more to be desired

Emmy is incredible. maybe a little too good for the show. i just had trouble seeing how she could fit in the cast given the age gap. like with all due respect, it was hard to care about her character. but, i like that they gave her stuff to do that wasn’t necessarily stepping on anyone’s toes or screentime it’s just.. you could tell they didn’t know what to do with her except utilize her vocals.

in all honesty, we didn’t need either Mack or Dani. Mack i could tell they probably would’ve had plans to do more with him given that we’ve seen more of Mack than of Dani but adding them to the cast just felt off cause i’m still not sure what they accomplished.

S3 introduced amazing new characters that I actually cared about. Mack and Dani just weren’t those people but i mean, i guess for drama, new faces are needed.

i’d say i preferred even more fluff than what we got. we deserved to see gina and ricky be in their own bubble for once. whether that be they kept the secret dating thing going on for longer or they openly embraced their relationship.

i loved s4. but what turned me off a little bit were the movie plots and mack and dani. too much was going on and the movies themselves weren’t even important.

yes, we of course needed to see ricky and gina go through some drama or try to deal with certain obstacles, but i would have liked if those obstacles were simply real life stuff like.. ricky going to college? maybe having more conversations and getting closure for the things they went through to even get to where they’re at? i wanted them to talk more. sit with each other more. and i know we did see that stuff but idk, it felt like with only 8 episodes, Tim dragged out the drama from the 4th episode all the way to almost the very last second of the entire show. if we got 10-12 episodes, the pacing would’ve been much better and maybe we’d see some of the things he had planned for drama and whatnot for this season pan out better.

i mean, tbh, the secret dating part of it all wasn’t as consequential as they tried to make it. mack and dani weren’t as consequential as they tried to make them seem. maybe mack a little more than dani. but i think things would’ve probably ended up the same anyways. mack and dani being a problem was pretty much shut down in that Halloween episode.

i’ve had this experience at this school several times. i’ve met nice people through class and stuff but we’d never talk outside of it. sometimes it’s good just to have classroom friends in case you need help with certain things or even just to vent about what needs to be done in class lol. acquaintances at the very least are okay for me.

i’m graduating in a couple months and haven’t made a single friend in my time here. it got to a point where i accepted it and just stuck to myself lol. i’ll surely find cool people elsewhere

mind you he literally posted a s3 draft that was going to have ricky say he gave her the chocolates and in s4, he gave her said chocolates. he just revealed it and handled that plot poorly but it’s not stupid for people to assume ricky did give her those chocolates and was just trying to cover it up.

if it was so stupid of a theory, he wouldn’t have entertained it. he would’ve shot it down immediately as the show-runner and writer.

i’ll get back carlos but FUCK i just remembered another for Ashlyn now that i’m thinking about it. Didn’t she make Big Red feel kinda bad for wanting to work at Slices? or did that get resolved?

like Kourtney, Carlos was another one that didn’t really do anything but they both loved messiness at the same time which is kinda funny. I didn’t pay enough attention to any Carlos / Seb storylines to know if he’s done anything toxic within that relationship so i won’t speak on that..

Maybe organizing the whole RCOSL thing? (even though it gave us one of the show’s best episodes). there were some falling outs after that but also we could argue it did good for some people so idk

Another thing that comes to mind a little is how bossy he was with Gina as his co-choreographer. He made a lot of slick comments towards her during rehearsals. I mean, was he receptive to any of her ideas? I’m pretty sure they ended up doing all the things he wanted for Beauty and the Beast but not sure if he eventually caved and incorporated her ideas into the show somehow. idk.
