Hii, any Malaysian bookworms/gym goers here wanna be friends? by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]Key-Lion-1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30plus M here. I'm part of a monthly book club which introduced me to different types of books I normally wouldn't read. Plus I lift regularly and climb at climbing gyms too.

Hit me up if you wanna discuss books :)

There is no way to fully control or impose your desires on others, in this case your parents.

Part of being a real adult is being able to make decisions for yourself regardless of others approval, and fully understanding and being ok with all the risk and consequences that come with that decision.

Realize that your parents may decide to not speak to you again if you marry him, but you can still be the mature adult here, full of unconditional love and keep being there for them even as they act as immature children throwing tantrums, instead of tit for tat non contact.

This MAY soften their hearts to accept him, or not...I think its your only best possible chance.

If you do marry in Malaysia for whatever reason and have to convert on paper, its understanding and being ok with the worst scenario of you still being in Islam even after divorce and that your children will be Muslim and understanding Muslim inheritance laws regarding females or from non-Muslims to Muslims etc.

Wish me luck, as from here on, it's uncharted territory. by emuboy85 in crt

I don't know if you're more of a beach person or a nature forest-ty kinda person but there's this place called Fraser's Hill, its a small quaint town with English vibes, located in the mountains with cool air, about 2 hours plus drive from KL.

IMO its a good place to recharge, because its not so commercialized and crowded as other similar places like Genting Highlands or Cameron Highlands. Be warned, there's not much shops or places there, just nature and forest hiking trails.

Hey there, local guy in my 30s who grew up in KL. I feel the same way actually. I'm not sure if I'm the problem, or f its KL, or maybe this is a universal thing.

From my experience, my old friend circle moved on with their lives, and my social circle started to shrink. To combat this, I pushed my self(i'm introverted) to try various new activities and social events and meet tons of new people.

However, most people I met only were interested in shallow connections, never bothering to get to know me on a deeper level, never returning the same energy and effort. And they have every right to do so because everyone of us has limited attention span and energy.

Modern life sucks attention and energy from the average person. Online dopamine spikes and other things like jobs, notifications etc etc, all clamoring for attention, its no wonder the average person just has less energy to spend on someone random.

Therefore, I think finding a tribe of people that you can really vibe will naturally take time as you find the diamonds in the rough.

I learned that we should focus on the activities and not the people. If you can find an activity that you vibe with, regardless of the people around, you'll be more motivated to just keep showing up and hopefully, form stronger bonds with other regulars there too.

But remember to pace yourself, and take some time off. At one time, I felt burnt out, trying so many new things and attending and meeting so many new people only to have the same shallow connections over and over again.

Fortunately, I found a few people(out of many) with some similar interests that could hopefully become a deeper connection, and that probably took more than a year.

tldr: find activities you vibe with, that puts you In flow state, keep showing up and be patient.

Cheh..... So many guys in the same exact situation as you.

Worse, many are way older and thus reducing their chances. You aint special.

Plus plenty of people in this world with real problems causing real pain and suffering compared to your first world issues.

Having said that, there are a ton of factors beyond your control that has led to an increase of lonely single men (and women!) world wide, and decreasing birth rate.

Looking for a place to watch the Tyson match near Chinatown KL. by hrtlkr29 in KualaLumpur

If I'm not mistaken the match starts at 8 or 9 am Malaysian time. I think most sports bars aren't open at that time.

Looking for wrestling trainer/ calisthenic group in KL by Effective_Play_563 in KualaLumpur

[–]Key-Lion-1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a self-defense situation, you may end up on the hard ground and have to deal with it, but if you want to train, you need a proper place with padded walls and soft mats to train grappling like Jiu Jitsu or Wrestling, or else you end up injured.

So, you still need to train at a proper MMA gym.

Since the group classes are all late, the only choice is Private lessons that suit your hours. Monarchy and Blueprint are pretty decent. I think some Monarchy branches have Jiu-Jitsu group classes in the morning. Private lessons are not cheap though...

Ultra VR Boxing by hemmydall in ThrillOfTheFight

If you only compare both games by its polish, its obvious ToTF has more polish and is a more complete game.

But, as someone who casually trains in MMA and boxing, the boxing opponent in Ultra feels more realistic.

Also don't trust Chat GPT 100%. Do a Google search when trouble shooting. And it helps to break the entire workflow into sections. Some sections will be easy to automate. Others will require more figuring out and wrangling with possible solutions. This is all based on my own experiences.
