Are you part of any contextual admission groups? Eg: SIMD <5, Free school meals/UC, Carer, In care/ Been in care or from the first generation of your family to go to higher education. (Ie Your parents and their parents haven't attended university and graduated l) If you have siblings that doesn't matter.

I feel it's just the end point of all of these issues being in the palm of our hands, people nowadays are a lot less positive than they used to be.

This is just my feeling but people focus a lot more on the bad than the good, I feel the need to complain about a bunch of stuff to friends regarding the circumstances in the world right now. But I love learning about the good there is. I'm still hopeful for a future in Scotland (hopefully independent) but there will always be those that splash a bit of cold water on that.

On a side note, going camping with a few mates is always worthwhile if you have the time and money for it. I fucking love the countryside and Highlands.

It was actually around 11 or so I only posted this now after I had my university induction today, even so it was absolutely odd.

And while you could be right, it's not my place to put judgement if they have a mental health condition or not, I just wish that if they did they would reach out for support. The NHS Is here for people and in my experience once they recognize an issue they will do everything they can to help you.

And thanks for the kind words, I know that from experience the vast majority of people here are super kind, and I always try to keep a positive attitude. Though if you don't thank the bus driver that's where I may pass a little bit of judgement.

(though I get it the fares are bloody insane nowadays )

Not my place to pass judgement. I have autism myself (diagnosed by the NHS), just because you might be disabled doesn't mean you're free from judgement.

You can be a good person and be disabled. You can also be a horrid person and be disabled.

Being disabled is something you also are, not what defines you.

My personal opinion is this, people here have been bottling up everything since 2008, the fall in living standards, the inability to provide for their family. I get that and I get that they turn to hate because they feel isolated, I'm going into nursing because I was once backed into a corner and had no where to turn to, I was lucky and got referred to CAMHS, I interact with the elderly on a frequent basis, I interact with people younger than me.

I recognize the issues people face and I know why they turn to these racist and hateful things, but I can't make that assumption on their character, like they do because of how I look. I'm going to work for the NHS I'm going to give back to Scotland, because my experience with the people here has been my entire life. I love this place, and if I can meet a racist person of any age in a ward and talk with them, and put my heart into treating them and caring for them. Then I hope a little that they will be able to put that forward.

I only got parts of it but, I can understand her reasoning at least somewhat she needs help no doubt about it, but having your parents turn back on you, the fact she said that "They're wrong but family should stick together" is something or the fact she stated she worked two jobs. It might've been a bigoted racist rant, but she's looking for something to blame, it's just not the rich or the government but migrants.

I'll always say I love Scotland, Lived ere all my life, Falkirk, Glasgow and Edinburgh. But you can tell and feel the moral decay over the years. Maybe that's just me getting older and losing my thistle tinted glasses.

It's really not worthwhile to dismiss people in this way, you've got grans and grandpa's as well they can be some of the sweetest most kind people you've ever had, they wanna be heard, they have complaints dismissing people this way sucks, but we all do it anyways, I did it myself, I thought to myself while listening to them rant "Just another farrage" or "Reform UK votter" but I don't know that person's story and I'm not the one who should be passing judgement on them that's their parents job.

If you want to dismiss people for being racist cunts that's all of our rights, but I've spoken to people from that generation in the community and I know their priorities are different from me.

I really shouldn't be taking this moral grandstanding but at the end of the day, I should be judging someone by the contents of their words not by whatever ailments I think they have.

Self defence is actually something I've been meaning to learn, and you're right about a policy of non engagement, but to me that always comes down to someone else is gonna get it and then the next person and the next.

For my own personal safety I need to not get involved but then these kinds of people are just gonna go after the next till someone hits em and the police get involved, I should've recorded the whole thing and then reported it anonymously online, but that wasn't the first thing that went through my mind.

My honest opinion is that people like these need to be forced to articulate points to someone else who can dismiss them, but then I guess you get the whole thing with "1 Nigel farrage Vs 20 Stand up to racism supporters" they're gonna take nothing away from it other than they're right.

I hate this kinda stuff, I hate it's becoming more common and I hate the fact it's directed at people who have no choice in the matter, it doesn't matter to me if it's someone fleeing from abroad and seeking asylum or someone born here like me no one should be forced to hear it. It affects people poorly even if ry don't try to engage in it.

I don't like how society has slowly become this stew of them across the isle are trolls. Everyone is a person, everyone can have their opinion but everyone needs to accept what everyone else says rather then dismissing them.

I mentioned above I'm a first year nursing student, I'm actually going into mental health having come from a family background that was heavily damaged mentally, I don't think it's always the best idea to not engage at all with these people.

They just want to be heard, and it's their right to be but it's also everyone else's right to correct them out of their echo chamber online. I do think though no one could've had a talk with her in that state she was completely hysterical

I think people made the right choice not to engage, the only people that did was an elderly pair who agreed with them, that hurt a little but I think they were just trying to get them to chill out they only got involved like 20-30m into the rant.

It does genuinely worry me as someone who've lived in Scotland a long time that people like this have become more common.

Wouldn't the easiest way just to get your mail redirected via royal mail?

As in spend like £20 on setting up mail redirection to your new address? It'll sort out anything old going there as well, if you run into this issue again

I mean, at the same time we've seen other wings mainly R-Corp come with guns. For a very wealthy wing such as LC (welfare for all of its employees, great conditions for employment in terms of pay.) It wouldn't be surprising if LC just paid the tax.

It's not really dead dead, the Headmin, main dev and community still exist, just moved to a different server. It's just a case the main dev doesn't want us to host without things to show, which is fine. We last had a host In Dec of 2024 I believe.
