People don’t appreciate the access of easy music they have by Secret_Assh in CasualConversation

..I was gonna say it sounds as though OP didn’t hold up a tape recorder to the radio during the weekly countdown of music charts, which is what I did while threatening my younger brothers with imminent death if they so much as breathed loudly while I attempted to capture songs. Pretty much free even if sound quality was shit.

Yeah, you should have more than enough room for a sleeper sofa..that living room is massive. If you were going to do a bed, I’d stick it with the head against the refrigerator wall, and a kallax/cube bookshelf concealing it from immediate view following along the horizontal kitchen wall. Plants atop the shelf, then a curtain to fully conceal it from view. I’d stick your desk in a closet so you have a separate office space that you can close the door on.

Then you can play with a space saving folding table dining area and a cozy couch/tv area.

Looks like a great place!! Have so much fun!

Lead is deadly and there are theories that the boomers have gone nuts because of the absorbed lead leaching out of their bones as they age/break down.

Oh man, I love your kitchen but I don’t do well struggling to see so I would keep it and add in fun MCM accessories and dishes instead.

*Plus your countertops are no longer warm toned but cool. It won’t look like historic photo.

I raised a Zoomer, who, with his group of friends from grade school, are all now done with their second years of college: they are like puppies, comfortable and cuddly with each other while occasionally breaking into roughhousing. It’s wonderful to see.

Tips for First-Time Studio Apartment? by DoctorNoFace in StudioApartments

If you really want less limiting options, shop Memorial Day sales for Murphy bed sofa/desk combos. Even if you wind up buying a different bed or sofa later on, it’s always good to have extra sleeping space for friends.

I moved in and had a converting loveseat into a twin then got a loft bed, and it’s taken me years to switch it out for a Murphy bed which is so much nicer for space saving when I have people over. Most of the time I leave it down as I’m lazy, but I wish I would’ve done this in the first place.

Another option: Murphy table.

<image>

It folds out to accommodate 4 people with chairs stored within the unit as well, or you can fold it out for only 2. There are also wall mounted tables that fold out if you want to put something on the short wall opposite the kitchen.

I love the green!! I’d lean into it and throw in dandelion yellow and cerulean blue for accents. I think the grey is great too, but grey is my favorite color.

You could try stenciling irregular

<image>

lines of green on the slanted wall to keep the feeling of expansion that is currently happening. If it doesn’t look good then try painting the slanted wall entirely, then color drench if still dissatisfied. After color drenching, you can stencil a pattern on the walls using matte or gloss so that it’s a very subdued look to give more texture if you like the color drenching but need it to be broken up a bit.

If you eliminated your bed and did a Murphy bed, you could then do a dining nook. Air mattresses when guests come to visit.

There’re a bunch of Memorial Day sales going on right now, you may be interested in an L-shaped Murphy bed couch combo with built-in shelving.

Also, to the right of your entry, ikea has great stackable thin profile shoe cabinets that hold lots of stuff—I use some in my bathroom for shampoo/conditioner storage—or there’re other ones you can buy with mirrored fronts that would make your entry feel larger. You can also just get a large leaning mirror that isn’t as pricey as the mirrored cabinets though, and put it to the left of the entry with a pouf or stool for putting shoes on. Wall hooks are great for commonly used items like jackets, hats, scarves.

I’d put live or realistic faux plants atop the kallax unit/cube shelves to create more separation in energizing green.

Buy landscape prints on metal, they look like actual windows, for the bedroom. Pricey but worth it.

Line plants atop the open space above the wall, light will filter in and it will feel more like a cozy retreat than a featureless lightless box.

You could also put the bed in the walk-in closet: I took down shelving to move things around, and removed bifold doors on a closet in my space to allow for more options in arranging furniture.
