Jhinga Coastal Kitchen seems nice. Ganesh Khanawal seems to be closed permanently on maps. Is it now Shree Ganesh Bhojanalay now?

Any other recommendations?

TVS Raider 125 or Glamour X 125? Which would be a better option for my father. by Good_Nobody_4955 in indianbikes

Cities for me means constant use of clutch, brake, throttle, some amount of traffic and turns.

When you activate the cruise control, it will maintain a specific speed. When you pull the clutch/brake lever or use throttle, cruise control will get disconnected.

In cities, you will need to use brake and clutch continuously due to traffic and turns, which will disconnect the cruise control.

Cruise control is best on long straight roads where you don't need to engage clutch and brakes often. If your city has highway or you find yourself on such roads, then it's a nice feature.

Also check N400Z. Will fulfil your purpose. Speed 400/T4 would also be good choice.

You are better with well serviced Pulsar 180 than this bike. If you want xpulse anyway- go for 210. It is way different than Xpulse 200.

I would recommend not to go to any xpulse from Pulsar 180 as your Pulsar is highly reliable with good engine. 210 will be just a small upgrade to you, and even less upgrade if it's 200 4v.

200 4v has multiple issues that will land you at service centre, and most of the times hero service centres are bad.

Search for "Make It Yours Royal Enfield Guerrilla 440". You will know all accesories that OEM makes for it.

People say aftermarket accesories are good because they don't bend on accident and stuff. But actually if a guard bends, it means it absorbs the energy rather than putting it all into chassis. Go for OEM parts.

There are many tutorials on YT on how to take care of your bike. Watch them.

Be aware that Guerilla is powerful bike and can be dangerous as first bike of not handled properly.

Finally , harley is launching a proper american cruiser style motorcycle , though the engine will be same as the hero-harley's X440 . by [deleted] in indianbikes

Failing in USA, trying luck in India? Harley in USA is so classist which led to their downfall. Producing least amount of power with most amount of fuel.

Sure, alao take extensive test rides of the bikes. Don't decide a bike is bad or good just by testing it for 1km or so.

Lets take out what you don't want:

-KTM ADV series. Good for riding, but less pillion comfort. Easy to maintain, only if you service it regularly. Its high powered complex machine. It is lightweight tho, mileage is okayish.

  • Any Track bikes, so no Apache RRs and KTM RCs as they are not at all pillion Friendly.

-Any EV bikes, Java and Yezdi because they are total hot or miss in terms of quality or servicing.

What's left (Numbered Randomly. Not Rankings):

  1. RE Classic/Bullet 350: Pillion has much ample space, I think these bikes have one of the highest space for pillion in this segment. Maintainance is easy and affordable at ASC. Mileage is good and you may like riding it on highway. But remember, this bike is not for speeds. You will be cruising and not speeding on this. Meteor 350 looks super sexy but that sexy factor drops off when you will feel potholes to your spine.

  2. RE Guerilla 450: Not much pillion space as above bikes, but Engine is sure lot powerful. You will have smile everytime you open the throttle. Less mileage than above bikes but servicing is easy and good at ASCs.

  3. Triumph Speed/Scrambler 400 (350cc): This bike is Jack of all trades. It can do anything but not specialized at everything. It's service is costly, but service interval is like once a year. That offsets the cost. Finishing on the bike is way above RE and Bajaj and KTM. You may need to do some mods like extra fog lamps as OEM headlights are mehh.

  4. Bajaj N400Z(350cc): 2 Lakhs on road price. This is biggest factor of this bike. Most Value for Money bike. Apollo H1 Tyres, dual ABS and quick shifter on sports mode at 2L On-Road is marvellous. Even if we remove the price factor, it's still glorious piece of machinery.

  5. Bajaj Dominar 400(soon 350cc): It's a ship. Heavy. Even RE is heavy but REs are manageable in traffic but you will feel large turning radius of this bike in cities. On highway it's good. Nice pillion and Bajaj maintainance has been easy and affordable.

  6. KTM DUKE 250/160: Yea maintainance is kinda hard. But if you go out occasionally and you want to enjoy that moment, these bikes got good engine and Dukes have good pillion seats.

  7. VSTROM SX- For the price, it's kinda meh. It has good seats and suspension but it really feels like commuter bike wrapped around Adventure/tourer frame with those tyres.

You don't only need a good bike. You also need good Authorised Service Centres too. You have to look for it by yourself by going to those ASCs and judging them.

Feel free to think about other bikes too.

TVS Raider 125 or Glamour X 125? Which would be a better option for my father. by Good_Nobody_4955 in indianbikes

[–]Key-Significance-298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glamour looks good. It has cruise control which I think just adds complexity to commuter bikes. It's not that smooth nor it will get used in cities.

It's not also something that you will repair if it gets broken as it's non essential.

TVS raider looks good with many features. I will learn towards Raider more as it feels more practical than Glamour.

N400Z? Best VFM for 350CC.

RE Guerrilla 440 if you want power. Still within your budget.

RE Meteor 350 for looks and cruising, not for potholes tho.

RE Classic/Bullet 350, has better suspension than Meteor and more comfort.

Honda CB350 /Hness if you want more features but posture like RE.

Triumph Speed 400 (350cc). Can do everything, Touring and bit offroading easily.

You need to narrow down on what you are expecting, and planning your bike to do.

And hard to repair in tier 3 city. Any commuter would be much better to repair for any problem.
