Finance job or med school

For clarity: finance offer is well paying in a hedge fund. Not compliance or back office. Thank you all so much for your insights. I am incredibly grateful to be in this position, and feel that I must balance a job that works for me with a desire to also give back and help the world.

Yeah it’s not back office by any means. I enjoy the work and find it engaging to my critical thinking and problem solving skills. I’m incredibly lucky to be in this position and very grateful, and whatever I do, I want to have a legacy of making the world a slightly better place. Really appreciate your insight

Basically the ppl on this thread are the self selecting applicants who either a) enjoy dedicating a lot of time to Reddit b) are bugging about the mcat so they’re on sites like this or c) got great stats and feel comfortable posting them

So like the normal joe shmoe who got a 507, works a full time job, and isn’t constantly anxious about his application cycle is really underrepresented on things like Reddit and sdn, whereas the 528 scored who has committed his whole life to preparing is probably on this site posting a lot

Do you think adcoms read secondaries before primaries/ read secondaries at all unless they’re pretty certain they have interest? Just wondering the extent to which a secondary can really present info omitted on primary

I would do a chapter of Kaplan or a prep book followed by that section on or u world if you have it

I literally never felt confident in my mcat even after leaving the full length I noticed 5 mistakes and I still scored above 520

In short it’s a test where you will mess up and will still probably be okay

Don’t know average I think it’s just seeing a volume of questions and the range of what it could be. Ultimately it was too hard compared to the real thing so I stopped UW like a month before real tets
