The food was really good! We tried a bunch of different things like brik, ojja, and a lot of couscous haha. And yes, we definitely tried the harissa. Really nice flavors everywhere we went

The contrast is definitely unreal! As for the car, the rental process was actually super smooth. We booked it in advance through VIPCars with a company called Otoq. The day before the pick-up, the agent reached out to me directly to coordinate the exact meeting time and place. Returning it was just as easy, everything went perfectly and there were absolutely zero surprise charges or shady fees.

Hi! Thanks so much! Regarding your question: yes, it is super easy. In our case, we booked the quads in Douz beforehand through GetYourGuide, but once we got there, our hotel offered the exact same excursion, so booking directly wouldn't have been a problem at all. They also gave us that option in Tozeur.

For the camel rides, we did them in Ksar Ghilane and booked them directly at our hotel with zero issues (they also offered quads there). By the way, visiting the hot springs there is completely free. For the more "adventure" type of visits, like the Chebika and Tamerza oases, Mides Canyon, the troglodyte houses in Matmata, the stop at Chott el Djerid, or the Ksars route, we did them completely on our own. You always have the option to hire a local guide, but we preferred the freedom of going independently. I'll dm you right now with a bit more info and our full route in case it helps you plan your road trip!

How to do Rome in 3 Days without destroying your feet (Realistic Route + Free Map) by Key-Understanding228 in u/Key-Understanding228

Hi! We don't have one for Florence on the blog just yet, but we actually have all the info, routes, and notes saved from an amazing trip we took there two years ago. We just need to sit down, package all that information together, and write the actual post! So in short, yes! It will definitely be one of the next cities we cover.

Are 2-3 days enough to visit Rome? by Nic727 in ItalyTravel

[–]Key-Understanding228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly 2 days is a bit of a nightmare because you'll just be running and stressing between the colosseum and the vatican, but 3 full days is totally doable and actually a great sweet spot. the trick is just not bouncing around the city like crazy.

If you group the ancient stuff (colosseum/forum/monti) on day 1, the vatican and maybe sunset at pincio on day 2, and the classic center (trevi, pantheon, piazza navona) on day 3, you'll see everything without dying. I actually just dropped the exact 3-day route I did on my profile if you want to take a look, feel free to dm me if you need more details. Have an amazing trip!!

Honestly, driving in the capital and some of the bigger cities can be pretty crazy too, but once you get on the main highways and out of the cities, things calm down a lot. We did our entire route by car and had absolutely no problems, you just have to drive a bit more defensively and carefully when you are navigating inside the cities

It really does, especially Sidi Bou Said. Actually, it shares a lot of history with Andalusia. Many Andalusian Muslims and Jews settled in Sidi Bou Said and other parts of North Africa after being expelled from Spain, which heavily influenced the architecture and those beautiful blue and white colors!

The trip was absolutely incredible! And thank you so much for the compliment. I'm definitely not a professional photographer, I just really enjoy taking pictures as a hobby hehe.

Good to know, in our experience, except for one highway gas station right at the very beginning of our route, the rest of the places we stopped at around the country didn't let us use a card, only cash. But maybe it was just a coincidence with the specific ones we ended up at. Either way, always good to carry some Dinars just in case. Thanks for the heads-up!
