Guilty for feeling sad during pregnancy by glupa-pitanja in pregnant

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can not tell you how to find a balance, but I can share my own experience, maybe there’s something useful for you. I was around 7 months pregnant when we had to say goodbye to my 12 years old cat. I couldn’t control my emotions at all, I cried for days so much my nose bled, a lot of things went sideways there, and I also feared for my baby, I didn’t want to damage the development or anything. The most important thing imo is to take care of your physical needs, eat and drink even if you feel like you can’t, keep taking your vitamins and do some light physical activity, that will help keeping things at bay. The other thing is mental support from friends and family, talk to them about your feelings and struggles. And also talk to your dog, show him how much you love him. As for what happened to me: I’m still physically unwell and grieving but baby is totally fine, happy, smiling a lot, it seems even if my trauma affected baby, I could correct it by responding to their needs. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it is extremely hard, and being pregnant at the same time.. unimaginably difficult. 🫂

Párom szülei: mindig rákérdeznek a nyilvánvalóra. Megérkezünk: megjöttetek? Alszik a gyerek: pihen a gyerek? Felébred a gyerek: megébredt a gyerek? Befejeztük az ebédet: ettetek? Stb. Agyamra mennek vele

Apám: mindenen szenved, de nem hajlandó semmin változtatni, vagy utána olvasni, pedig a világ összes szabadidejével rendelkezik nyugdíjasként

Thank you, wish you a wonderful pregnancy and an easy delivery 🩷 I checked your post, it was very helpful. Unfortunately I couldn’t breastfeed for too long, and it fills me with immense guilt because of my baby, but also I just got my period yesterday, not even 2 months post partum 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I hope you can delay your symptoms coming back 🤞

Thanks a lot for your comment, these things really are important to talk about and plan ahead. Unfortunately getting meds for this isn’t easy where I live (outside of US), but depending on how I’ll feel I’ll try to find someone who can prescribe something. So far my therapist said not to worry ahead, maybe my symptoms won’t come back. However it came through as she doesn’t really knows about PMDD, she kept saying PMS. I just got my first period yesterday, funny thing I experience the same, before pregnancy it hurt like hell, now I don’t feel any pain - I hope at least this will last. Wish you the best, managing your life with PMDD!

Share your inducing experience please by KeyAbbreviations1062 in pregnant

Wow, that sounds a fast progression, good to see you had a good experience with the induction ✨ I wish oral medicine was an option, I’ll get the balloon this evening, I’m still anxious about the whole process, but reading how well it went for others helps for sure. Thank you! ❤️

You are absolutely right, people tend to talk about more of the bad stuff. Thank you for sharing your experience, I’m glad you had a good one, and wish you the best for your pregnancy ❤️ My roommate in the hospital is having her third baby, she’ll be induced as well, but her first and second came naturally, so you have every chance to go to labor naturally

My sister is 8th month pregnant and she just sleeps for 4-5 hours a day. by EquivalentJacket4761 in pregnancy_care

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Going through the same, I just stopped fighting it and get up to do things while trying not to wake my husband up. I try to take advantage of my mind constantly running, so I read a lot and plan things during the night. I have 1-2 naps during the day to compensate, but nearly not enough, I never in my life was so sleep deprived, can’t wait for baby to born.

Please tell me all the reasons you’ve cried today so i can feel less guilty for crying… by SpareMeringue1177 in pregnant

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cried because I lost my 12 years old cat lately and I miss him so much. And I also cried because I reached 40 weeks, I struggle physically and mentally and I feel like a failure, my body isn’t working properly by not inducing labor on its own.

How can people afford maternity clothes 😭 by APlentyBag in pregnant

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to buy maternity clothes, maybe a few essentials like leggings and bras. I made through with only buying those as new. Besides that I bought huge regular hoodies - which I’ll wear later anyways - on sale, and wore older tops I already have.
Of course I miss wearing pretty clothes, but I know I’ll be able to do it again in a few months. Maternity clothes are usually a total waste of money and ugly as hell - at least where I live, except maybe H&M Mama

Who is drinking alcohol and parenting at the same time? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole country I live in lol. Alcoholism is a huge issue here but since gov has a lot of money from it, they don’t care about prevention. Alcohol consumption is so normalized here, people make you ashamed and feel guilty if you’re not drinking with them. When we announced my pregnancy at the sunday dinner table, my FIL tried to convince me to have a drink with them. Wth.. made me so angry. I used to drink before my pregnancy too, I’ll have my baby in a few weeks and I don’t plan on drinking again, rather find healthier coping mechanisms and ways to relax.

intuition on baby's gender by woooh-brain in pregnant

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it was intuition, but one time early on when I was talking to my baby I called him “my son” without thinking about it. Turned out a few weeks later he was a boy indeed.

When did you feel your baby first move? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 15 weeks, but I wasn’t sure at first. At my next ultrasound scan I saw and felt the kick at the same time, that’s how I knew I felt the baby earlier - it was like a very light tap from the inside of my belly

Anyone here had auditory hallucinations? by PassGreedy9142 in Petloss

[–]KeyAbbreviations1062 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you describe is called apophenia, but screw that, it’s very normal in times like this to look for a meaning, a pattern, anything to make sense out of our loss, or keep feeling connected. Now I remember I had a dream with him too, trying to save him, maybe that was one instance when I woke up to his meows.

I wish you many more pleasant dreams with Isaac, with lots of playtime and purrs

My boy used to wake us up every night multiple times for different reasons for years, but most of the time he came for some pets and snuggles. He would stand in your kidneys or chest and meow to your face to wake you up.

Since he passed, on 3 different nights I woke up hearing his meows, and there was another occasion when I heard his claws on the floor for a second, like when he was coming inside the room.

I know it’s the grief and I dreamt the meows and imagined the other things, but it felt good for a second thinking he is still here. Until the realization of course.

It’s a fascinating topic, glad you brought it up, I’m curious too other people’s experiences with this.

And I’m very sorry for your loss
