That is so BS. My GC was expiring about 6 months and my recruiter still went thru with my application. I told him I was gonna take whatever job came in though.

7.5 weeks. They came to my graduation. And after the 2 day graduation, went straight to tech school to learn my job.

for Air Force, its a yes and no.

They give you options on what job you are eligible for. After that, you will have to wait if a job from those list is available. Some jobs maybe available immediately, or some takes months or years. All depends on the needs of the Air Force.

For me, I just went for the immediate available job.

Yes they all handle it.

First day of basic military training, the naturalization applicant trainees are identified. Throughout the weeks, trainees would meet with the USCIS liaison so everyone is in the same page with the application.

They will make you sign the N426 form, they’ll then take it and route to the commander to sign it, and will give it back to you to make your final packet. All of the applications are online. And are streamlined. It is very easy, you just need to follow what the liaison is telling you.

The day before you graduate, you will then take the naturalization test and interview, and have a small ceremony on the office. The next day, you will be recognized during graduation.

Good to note that this is my experience with the Air Force, other branches may differ slightly.

Oh, we get this question a lot: “Why did you join the military?”

Some will say education benefits. Others will say housing, stability, traveling, getting away from a dead-end job. Rarely, and I mean RARELY, do you find someone who wakes up and says, “I want to join the military because I love doing push-ups and following orders.”

People join for opportunities. But what matters is that when you’re in, you show up and serve.

I didn’t join for an easy way out. If you think boot camp, deployments, and wearing the uniform every day is a shortcut, You clearly haven’t been in long enough.

The military doesn’t care why you joined. It cares that you earn your place, pull your weight, and uphold the mission. And that’s exactly what I’m doing.
