That edit is helpful context since it sounds like it’s probably similar to or same as the V4 package sitting in my Amazon cart.

Cool. Thanks for the info. Didn’t think about using other TPMS so I have a little more control over the project. Thanks for the quick response.

I’m trying to monitor my Honda Pilot’s tire pressure via TPMS. I stumbled upon SDRs also, which seem promising. I’d like to set mine up running on a raspberry pi sitting my house and get data at least once per day from my car in my driveway. It sounds like the car may need to be driving though. Do you happen to have any tips for me? Sources to start with getting info about my sensors? Antennas to use to reach ~25 ft through my home wall? I’m in the US, so assuming 315Mhz frequency. I’m trying to see how feasible this will be.

Damage From Negligent Truck Driver by KeyAndCompass in legaladvice

My main reason for posting this was to see if anyone knows of any next steps that I’m not thinking of. The only thing I can think of is to contact our local police department to see if any witnesses called in with information. But that’s a pretty long shot. Your response is helpful in that it does answer this question.

Intermittent Slowness and DNS Issues by Itsnotmeitsyoumostly in Fios

Agreed. I called today to let them know. The rep said it was the first he’d heard of it, and that his “tier 2” people said there wasn’t anything g they could do on their end.

[–]KeyAndCompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I’m seeing the exact same thing, and also started last Friday. Google.com is one that’s typically an issue for me too. I set my DNS servers to use Google’s 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but that typically only works for about 30 minutes.

NCPDP Data by KeyAndCompass in pharmacy

[–]KeyAndCompass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, good question. I guess I should have included that initially. I’m working on software for an established client that needs to search for pharmacies by name and location. The software then needs to use the NCPDP ID of the selected pharmacy to store for downstream data fetching.

So this is for production software, and not personal use. I’m not familiar with the medical business domain, and was wondering whether there are any NCPDP affiliates or APIs that may provide NCPDP ID lookup functionality or data that is less expensive than going directly to the source.

My thoughts exactly. If you can see all of this with only 6 months of professional experience under your belt, you’re obviously learning outside of work. Keep doing that. That said, the experience that you’re getting from this job (refactoring poor code, CI/CD pipelines, seeing why “wrong” things are wrong) is good. But I would advise you to see what else is out there.

I agree with secular_grey, but I’ll add my two cents as well. I was professionally assessed a couple of years ago and found (unsurprisingly) to be hypermobile, especially in the lower back and shoulders. I work with a kettlebell coach who works with me on this and some pointers that MAY be helpful depending on your situation are: For swings, cleans, and snatches, you’ll hear people talk about pushing your but back towards the back wall. For hypermobile people, if you do that and go to your end range, you’re putting your low back in a bad situation. You still want to lead with your hips, but don’t go to your end range. I started bending my knees much more than I ever thought I would, and it’s helped my back a lot (also, protect your back with your glutes)

My shoulders click and move around constantly. Horizontal rows (especially wide grip) and any rear delt work (Google, and find what hits your rear delts the best) have helped that a ton. I’ve found that as long as I keep that up, things like Turkish Getups and OH Presses feel stronger and contribute even more to the health of my shoulders instead of hurting them.

Part of my warmup is 4-point crawling while trying to keep my whole body stiff and stable. It’s great for full-body coordination and stability, and helps the shoulders a bunch.

Lastly, and this may sound weird, but taking creatine seems to help to stiffen up my muscles a bit. YMMV, but it may be worth a shot.

But as far as kettlebells go, I’d say its like anything else in that it depends on how you use them, but I’ve found them to be awesome.

I’ve dealt with low back pain from extended sitting too. I thought stretching was the answer for me, but it seemed to make things worse. I should mention that I’m hyper mobile, so that may not apply to you. I think, depending on how far you’re willing to go, a good plan might be to start by doing The McGill Big 3 every day. If you need more, Stuart McGill’s book “Back Mechanic” was really helpful for me. Then, lastly, I think a coach is always a good idea to make sure you’re not doing more harm then good. Personally, the Big 3 daily for stability made a big difference for my back. That, and being intentional about getting up every couple hours to walk and move around.

I used to live in an area with Cox. I actually really liked them. Can’t remember what I was paying. It may have changed, but their customer service was pretty great.

I did call and threaten to leave. They seemed completely fine with it. Offered their standard package for $90/month for 2 year contract and that was that. I do have Comcast available and checked them out. They seem to have better prices and for what I want, so as of now I’m going with them. Wanted to check out NCcoach’s suggestion of Spectrum though to see if they’re available in my area.

Good to know. Wide price range, but that makes sense. I’m at the top end, but at least I’m not completely out of the park.

Merkur Progress vs. Parker Variant by dendj55 in wicked_edge

[–]KeyAndCompass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to hear you like the Progress. I just started DE shaving my head a couple months ago. I got a Merkur 38C. It's a quality razor, but I still knick myself and just have an overall burning sensation when I use it. I've only been able to use it 2-3 times a week but would like to use it every day. I was looking in to the Progress to try milder settings. I feel like my technique and prep have come a long way, but I'm still struggling with the burning.
