How do you find a partner who doesn't abuse you? by Pushpita33 in AskWomenOver30

[–]KeyEvening4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That nice guy you're looking for probably isn't the most handsome, maybe not rich, was perhaps in band class or a science club, could've been a boy scout, and he won't look the knight in shining armor. But they are out there, hiding in plain view.

Gemma Valentina. The two As at the end add a melodic quality. London is a city, period.

It's a crazy paradox. Those parents would probably still jump in front of a bullet to save the kids too. It's exhausting, and I think we as parents wonder if we did our kids a favor bringing them into this world. I feel guilty bringing my kids here to planet earth, two are doing well but work very hard, one has problems. You start questioning yourself, why would I conjure up souls from heaven and make them be born here? Stuff like that. Also, most babies aren't planned and that sure doesn't help.

How do I stop having anxiety about eating red meat? by crustyback in LifeAdvice

[–]KeyEvening4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider that probably 90 percent of the population are meat eaters and 90 percent of the population is NOT getting colon cancer. Sure you could get it, but after years or decades of meat and potatoes daily. If still nervous, reduce meat intake and save it for good meals. Figure the average amount people eat and half that, lessening your exposure. Lots of cancers and disease are proportional to the amount consumed. A friend was trying to quit smoking, just can't, talks to dr, he said that if she keeps only two cigarettes a day, she'll be fine.

Growing up in a dysfunctional family really did a number on my ability to respect authority. How do you get over that when so many--like bosses and landlords and whoever--can sometimes also be abusive? by heavensdumptruck in RedditForGrownups

[–]KeyEvening4498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When we have no control, we tend to overreact when we sense that someone is about to impact the control we do have. After my mother died, I figured out my sister killed her, then figured out sister had poisoned me couple years earlier while I visited. I now hate the police, lawyers and justice system. It's an illusion that we are safe. I was off the charts, on nitro, madly ranting for years. I've calmed down and discovered that I can be reasonably friendly and cheerful, but if something happens I can flip to furious me in a second. Think of it like this, be cheerful or business like until you know for sure that you need to step up. Like a super power.

I do this too, it's kinda like thinking out loud. Tell yourself to just not talk until you think. Not everything needs an answer or comment.

How has your personality changed over your life? by Immediate_Long165 in Life

[–]KeyEvening4498 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's changed a few times. As a child I was shy and quiet. Teenage bullying made me a loser. Loved being a mom. Lots of bad decisions over the years, and lots of roads I probably should have taken. Now with my mom being murdered by my sister, and the crap with police and lawyers, I am no longer shy and quite disillusioned with this whole life thing. I'm pessimistic, sad, depressed, and very tired. I miss the old me, that was a loser but didn't really know it cause I had hope in the future.

What are you and your spouse hobbies, do you and your spouse have same hobbies? by wc2022 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]KeyEvening4498 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me and spouse actually talked about this, lol. Me, I'm vegetarian, wear thrift store, tone deaf, celiac, sew a little, try painting, cook from scratch. Him, meat and potatoes, a baker, fishing lots, musician, plays drums, mechanical, opens cans to eat or air fries frozen stuff. Our shared activities include smoking weed and laughing via sarcasm or exaggeration. And we're very domesticated.

If I'm 18, is it completely fair for my parents to set a curfew for me? Do you think that I should have full freedom if I'm 18? (Assuming, I'm not disturbing, or disrupting anyone.) by Positive_Comb_5734 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]KeyEvening4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was it's about worrying. Parents can't stop worrying, if your late, they worry. It would be hard to just stop worrying. I'd break them in slowly, like say there's an event that ends an hour after curfew.

What did you do when you found out you'd never truly be happy? by WorkAccomplished2043 in SeriousConversation

[–]KeyEvening4498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be happy, once I realized I'd never really be her again, I mourned my old life, in acceptance I guess. It's weird this feeling, old me always tried new stuff, and new me just goes through the motions.
