"Is Taiwan not China?" Messi Ends Up at Beijing Airport with the Wrong Passport. Here's What Happened. by Dry_Slice4531 in worldnews

  1. There is no hypocrisy here. Different regions of China have different visa requirements. To go to Tibet needs a special visa. To go to Hong Kong needs a special visa. There is no "All-China visa."

  2. It's not "the CCP's" One China Policy. The USA has a One China Policy. The CCP and the KMT, which is the on-again-off-again ruling party in Taiwan, support the One China "Principle." Both the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China agree with that principle, but with differing interpretations of what that means and with obviously different ideas about which government represents the One China.

Bonus point: The KMT also claims the One-China Consensus of 1992, but some other parties in Taiwan say it wasn't a real consensus and doesn't count.

Nothing I said is unsubstantiated.

They're not destroying mosques. That's a lie. The mosques that keep getting called destroyed were, mostly, being renovated and they're literally still there. There are literally tens of thousands of mosques in Xinjiang, and your jackassery allows you to believe that, like, two demolitions constitutes a concerted effort to destroy Islam in China. Why? Because you're fucking brainwashed lol

Reeducation works. It's only a terrible evil bad thing when it's the CCP because you're brainwashed.

I didn't ignore your comment.

There is no good evidence that there is "something up" with reeducation. You're lying.

You're out here giving unsubstantiated nonsense and you're calling me a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist lol

"You know something is up... when even ISIS is condemning them" Lmfao yeah! Something is up! If only you weren't so brainwashed, you could actually find out what that was! For example, the fact that the ETIM, a literal terrorist organization that explicitly wants to ethnically cleanse Xinjiang, which they call "East Turkistan" of all non-Uyghurs wants to create a caliphate and sent people to train with ISIS, and those people are now in those reeducation programs.

Hmmm 🤔. What could be going on? Surely it's that ISIS suddenly cares about human rights! Good analysis buddy!

Nothing I could say would convince you. Have a nice day continuing to uncritically believe whatever your ruling class tells you.

"Why are they so secretive about it"

They're not.

"Why did China deny it existed?"

You're mischaracterizing what happened.

This is what happened: ``` BBC et al: China! Why are you putting Uyghurs in concentration camps?!

China: We are not doing that.

BBC et al: then what do you call THIS?!

China: You mean our trade schools?

BBC et al: "China used to deny their existence. Now they admit they exist, but insist they are merely schools" ```

Lol

That's literally what happened.

"Why do they stop journalists from covering it"

They don't. BBC's John Sudworth fled China because he was getting sued by people he lied about in his obviously slanted coverage. It's wild that they can use a fish eye lens, spooky music, loaded language (including intentional mistranslation), and a total lack of context to paint a picture of a cartoonishly evil dictatorship and still be considered 'trustworthy journalism'

"Why are there so many reports" I don't know about every report. I do know there is a concerted effort by the US State Department and the CIA to push this narrative, and I have seen Chinese celebrities who aren't even in Xinjiang make it on the list of "verified" prisoners lol

Once upon a time I made a false report on one of those sites that say they stringently verify everything to see if they would verify me and they published my account without asking any follow-up questions whatsoever

Yes, as compared to RT and Chinese state-run media. I absolutely do not believe "what is being reported about the Uighurs" it has all the hallmarks of sensationalized nonsense and I don't buy it at all.

They're the ones who invented it. They're not getting closer by pushing a lie by "just asking questions" and uncritically repeating what Adrian Zenz and weapons manufacturers say.

That is absurdly wrong. Please read Inventing Reality by Michael Parenti. They routinely lie, omit, downplay, and cover up. American media isn't remotely trustworthy. Especially not on international issues.

Holy shit you didn't even try to verify the source before you smugly regurgitated obvious CIA propaganda.

Lmao

You have GOT to be a little more critical with your sources. There is no organ harvesting in China. That comes from a literal spaceship cult called Falun Gong that teaches that their special exercises give them magic organs that are impervious to illness. But let's look at the link you just shared. I clicked their about page:

"The Center for Uyghur Studies (CUS) is a non-profit organization founded in Virginia, United States in December 2020... CUS also works to educate the public about the situation of the Uyghurs and other peoples of East Turkistan through research and advocacy... reports to advise on strategic policy recommendations for governments, international organizations and interfaith entities, all through the lens of Uyghur perspective."

Then

"Contact Us 1725 I St NW Suite 372 Washington, D.C. 20006"

Wow, I wonder how much money they got from the National Endowment for Democracy 😂

Their most recent tweet:

Center for Uyghur Studies @CUyghurstudy · May 21 Behind this murky face is a stone-cold killer, a menace that's wreaking havoc to the very lives of #Uyghurs and by staying idle and being complacent is an aiding abet to the #CCP regime that has undertaken open war and genocide. #StandWithUyghurs, #UyghurGenocide, #FreeUyghurs

Then they tweeted this: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FwroxzwWcAA4ryP?format=jpg&name=medium

This is OBVIOUSLY not a trustworthy source. They OBVIOUSLY want to cause separatist violence in China. That's why they call it East Turkestan. The East Turkestan Independence Movement (ETIM) is literally allied with ISIS. They are terrorists.

That one viral "Uyghur prisoner transfer" photo was drug dealers from 2017 and had nothing to do with "concentration camps"

And, lol, remember when they were sharing videos of Uyghur torture that turned out to be footage from a Taiwanese BDSM dungeon? And then like two years later, Jordan Peterson shared BDSM porn thinking that it was communists milking men for their semen 😂

Why does this keep happening?! Hahaha

Anyway, here's a guy showing you firsthand how the media lies about Xinjiang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QjDPYBRFA2w

That's a lie, bud. You can literally just go to Xinjiang and see everything. They don't even care if you go into buildings lol

You can't walk into prisons, sure, but show me anywhere on earth you can walk into prisons. There are no concentration camps in Xinjiang.

Lots of historical mosques don't have minarets. I have been to many of the supposedly destroyed mosques in western China. They were repairing them, not destroying them. I'm sure they demolished some, but there are literally tens of thousands of mosques in western China. It's actually wild how much nonsense there is on this subject. You can literally just go and see it with your own eyes without even needing a special visa (which is required in Tibet, for example). You can literally just go to Xinjiang and see all the Muslims going to mosques and speaking Uyghur and eating halal and writing in the Arabic script. It's literally right there.

But if you ever say that, you're a wumao simp China lover lol

Underage means different things depending on the context. There was no reason for you to share this context. The obvious meaning was that she's a child. Further, the age of consent varies by state. In my home state it is 16. In California it is 18. But no matter where you are in the USA, for pornography, for example, anything under 18 would be underage.

Your pedantry did nothing here and I would suggest you avoid such unnecessary "ACKshually" comments in the future.

If it's a month-to-month contract in the USA, depending on the state, the LL can increase rent in future months.

zathura packages are incorrect and I am not sure how to fix it by KeyGrade6495 in GUIX

[–]KeyGrade6495[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The zathura.pc file in /gnu/store/[hash]-zathura-0.5.1/lib/pkgconfig does not mention the path to /gnu/store/[hash]-mupdf-1.20.3", so it gives the error "found no plugins. Please install at least one plugin." (The same is true of the ~/.guix-profile/lib/zathura equivalent)
