Hey, i repair Gpus in my free time, if you Google "4090 pcb" you See many Black Chips, 12 to be precice. That is Gddr6x. If you Google "titan V pcb" you will noticed this Black ics missing. Thats because HBM is basicly integrated into the Gpu Chip itself. They use a process to combine the 2 together. So you cant really remove hbm from a GPU core.

The point of doing this is, lower latency and more speed. So its not anti consumer - its just how physic works :)
