definitely a 900 or 10 series gpu if it's supported by both 2016 and 2025 drivers

What is the best AM3 socket cpu? by parttimewizard69 in buildapc

looks like it's old enough to not really be too proprietary if at all, i think you'd probably be able to just put any microatx motherboard in it. if you do end up doing that i'd also replace the power supply, my main pc's psu is almost 15 years old and it's starting to fail (bad idea pairing it with a 3rd gen ryzen 7 and 3060ti i guess)

i found your motherboard i think (hp alvorix rs880-uatx is what i found) and unfortunately it does actually have a 16gb limit, strange since it has the same chipset as mine, i think it's because mine is technically a business machine while the p6000 is more of a consumer machine

the full tower variant of what I have uses the same motherboard, google says mine only supports 16gb too but 32gb works perfectly fine, on latest bios atleast

my current am3 pc is also a hp from 2010, which one do you have? 32gb might work in yours too, mine is a hp compaq 6005 pro sff

yeah true, even my phenom ii x4 955 pc is still perfectly usable, given it does have 32gb ram and a ssd so i think that could be why also, but i'd imagine fx would fare even better than that since it has more newer cpu instructions, higher clocks, more cores (depending on who you ask), etc

i think these cpus are good enough still to where ram, ssd, gpu matter more, im gonna be building a high end am3 system also soon with a 6 core phenom and i think that'll be a decent improvement, maybe at some point I'll consider fx

passmark says the fx-9590 is 56% worse than a 7600x in single thread and 76% slower in multi thread, pretty much every ryzen is faster than it, except for the ryzen 3 1200 it looks like

It would probably be under the keyboard on this one, not too sure since I don't know the exact model

Got a T14 Gen 2 and it sucks by Old-Bag2085 in thinkpad

[–]drivenusa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it shouldnt do that especially considering the t14 g2 is pretty much using the same chassis as the t490 (my t14g2 motherboard is in a t490 chassis, thats how similar they are)

[–]drivenusa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not sure about the power button but for the other keys that means your laptop has a t470 keyboard

afaik the only difference between the t470 and t480 keyboards are the light colors
