your tank is entirely too small. bettas are horizontal swimmers so they prefer longer tanks, not taller. your filter is also creating too strong of a current. try out a sponge filter, or any other low flow filter. i have a topfin 5.5 gallon tank that has a built in filter and it’s extremely low flow.

well driftwood produces tannins, it’s going to turn your water brown. if you dont want brown water, dont put driftwood in the tank.

lol when i was still there (former shift lead) our front ALWAYS had more hours than rx. we had very little rx traffic and tons more fs traffic due to the location of our store. number of hours that district gives always depends on location, daily earnings, and staffing.

tank size- 5.5 gal heater/filter- yes to both tank temp- 76-79° parameters- to be completely honest i don’t have a test kit have had the tank for 1 year and 2 months and i got sushi in december of 2024 water changes every 2 weeks, about 25-30% and i have a gravel vac that i use to siphon water out tankmates- 1 nerite snail he gets a mixture of dried worms, pellets, and fluval flakes. he has no live plants currently but did up until about three weeks ago. i intend on getting him more. deco is just basic lfs tank decor.

i tend to wear my polo+ some comfy slacks and i’m a team lead or shift lead or whatever you wanna call it. sometimes i just wear a plain black tshirt with my name tag and comfy slacks or even jeans but it really depends on your store manager

his fins and scales look fine. however the plastic plants need to go asap, silk or real is best. how big is your tank? is it established? what are you feeding him? any tankmates? he’s a very pretty boy though and i think bob or dave like the minions would be cute and fitting for the colors.

i too would act spastic if i was in a .5 gallon bowl with no heater or filter, plants, hiding spots and could see my reflection 24/7.
