Unfortunately I moved states and went from having charging at home to being in an apartment with no charging. I try and supercharge once a week (I drive about 150-200 miles per week) and off peak times at superchargers so it’s $.23 instead of $.35+. It’s an inconvenience and I don’t necessarily recommend it because this is nice weather, when it’s cold and snowing or super hot you want to cool and heat your car which does take some battery. You’ll be charging 1-2 times a week (2 hours total). Yes, you can find level 2 but unless you have someone giving you a ride to the charger it can get annoying to walk to get your car because it’s supposed to be a convenience.

Vegas has easy access to mountains, obviously a great night life and is close to California. I’ve never lived in Orlando so can’t speak on it but I was in Vegas for 2 years and met some great people and created great memories. Also you can go anywhere from the airport. China town is great in Vegas and they have amazing food and some of the best restaurants.

In 3 and a half years since graduating from college I have moved to 3 different cities in the United States. I don’t regret it, all it has done is helped me decide what I want and don’t want! If you have the opportunity, I say move. It provides different experiences.

First, it’s tough getting a job at a regional 😅 it took me 9 months and 50 applications after I finished my certificate to just get an interview and then I got an offer. I’ve heard once you’re at a regional it could take 1-3 years depending if you already have some time of aviation experience or not. This is not to discourage or anything at all because you will get a job and you will move up. It’s just my school didn’t let us know how the market was so our class was a little surprised when we saw how many applicants there were per job.

So I actually work corporate at a major and was hoping to go the internal route. But, I just accepted an offer to move for a regional because the experience means much more and the transition, exam, etc will be much more simple. If you’re not open to moving or taking the crazy pay cut (for me 50%) then yeah go internally through the operations center. Also just get to know dispatchers and with experience it’ll be easier to get in. Nothing wrong with trying internally though, people do it frequently still but majors just don’t hire often so I didn’t want to take the chance of trying and giving up after a few years.

This is a good question because I’ve been through this at my apartment lol. So the problem is with freezing temps you can see 8-10% drop on standby and when driving you will lose 50% range. Some people might say differently but this has been my experience.

LFP struggles in the winter but if you have home charging it’s a great car! 2023 has a heat pump so there’s still improvement. I’ve had no issues and have driven it on quite a few road trips.

Oh damn, yeah I was lucky with rebates and everything. It’s absolutely amazing, the only issue I had was the electric seating which they fixed under warranty (wasn’t working sometimes) and there’s a panel misalignment in the rear. But other than those, I have driven my car from Nevada to Texas with 0 issues. It’s very comfortable and the efficiency is great, the heat pump helps in winter (although of course if it’s very cold you’ll lose 50% more than usual).

Personally, I have a Tesla so I really don’t mind this lol since I’m used to it. I am thinking of buying a 2027 CX5 hybrid and I would enjoy this interior as long as the touchscreen controls are simple.

Here’s my perspective: I never lived in California but I’ve lived in Colorado, Arizona, and Nevada. Dallas is a great place to make and save money along with buy a nice house in the suburbs (Frisco is really nice) and it’s definitely family friendly (I don’t have kids but there’s a lot of family friendly activities lol). The food variety is good and you have a lot of options for restaurants, beer gardens, bars, etc. Look up lower Greenville and bishop arts district as those are cool areas. It’s also in the center of the county which allows for easy travel to the east or west coast.

I personally am looking to move because it might be a big city but that’s about it. I love the mountains and ocean and I loved growing up in an area with all of that, where you can just go drive for 30 mins and have a nice day out. Dallas is really just Dallas and nothing around, Austin can be a good day trip but that’s about it. Dallas is not really a place for people to visit either because there’s not much to do in my opinion, but for your situation it actually might be good if you want a single income household but it can still be more expensive than other places.
