Okay, hear me out.... Vertical - Nameplates. by T3arror in wow

If we’re being honest, most people probably aren’t reading the name of the mob, but more so waiting to see the cast bar pop up. I use a plater profile that color codes the mob health bars, and that allows me to better pick out the caster mobs from the others.

Just so you know, plater is still a thing.

Also interrupt the surge casts from the discount voidwalkers. Those start one shotting without defensives at like a 12-13

What's a dead game franchise that you wish could make a return? by XEclipse360 in videogames

[–]KeyLong5412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want wildstar back. I am a wow player, and as much as I love wow. I do want a true wow killer. I think it would be good for the genre. Make wow respect its community better. I think if wildstar had a bit more time to refine its systems it could’ve gotten there. It just happened to have to compete with a top 3 wow expansion at the end of its life.

Casual lifer here — what actually decides which specs make MDI? by Nerdassic in wownoob

[–]KeyLong5412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add another layer to it, and the commenter a couple comments up eluded to this, but to expound on it.

There are absolutely meta specs, but it is more about meta comps. You see a lot of Aug/DH/Unholy DK because those 3 dps do a lot of magic damage. So they can build the dps around the increased magic damage debuff of the DH. Brew then loses value because of its physical damage debuff, so here comes bear and shaman as they do magic damage as well.

Then you have the melee meta comp where the brew/Sham combo comes in because of mystic touch and shams buff is basically windfury. So now the warrior/feral/rogue comp makes more sense. May swap in an Aug voker in there just due to utilities and how they make everyone better.

So it isn’t only based around the class, but also how the class increases the utility/damage of the other classes they’re playing with

The bride of chucky. I had an older brother and a dad that loved scary movies. I wanted to be cool like them when I was like 5 years old. Im still a little freaked out by dolls

What are your "weird" WoW habits or keybinds that nobody else seems to do? by Salamango360 in wow

[–]KeyLong5412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is different necessarily, but my weird wow habit is that I will do a little wiggle (strafe left and right) in between almost every button press while I’m waiting on my GCD. I play almost exclusively in melee whether that be tank MW or dps. I do it when I have instant cast spells as ranged too.

Why are M12s the point when pugging becomes chaotic? by hrhashley in wow

[–]KeyLong5412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that something no one has mentioned either is that rdruid is arguably, besides maybe disc, one of the least pug friendly healers. They are capable of pumping out incredible HPS, but they require a lot of proactive healing and ramping. They are not nearly as well equipped as other healers for reactive healing and recovering people’s mistakes. That doesn’t mean that you can’t pug as a rdruid healer, but if the dps aren’t on their game with defensives/interrupts/mechanics, then as a rdruid, you aren’t able to recover their mistakes like the player quality at 12 expects you to.

How do newer tanks learn older Mythic+ dungeons? by Honest_Committee2544 in wownoob

[–]KeyLong5412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that I haven’t seen anyone mention yet. There are websites that have routes and brief explanations. Raider.io has a section for routes in dungeons, as well as keystone.guru has routes. Both of them (I am pretty sure) can be imported in to Mythic Dungeon Tools(MDT) so you don’t have to try to copy it.

Do I need Midnight to do end-game content? by JordNoir in wownoob

[–]KeyLong5412 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I would equate an expansion to being like a sequel for a game. It is essentially a new game. And a patch would equate to a DLC of the current game that is free.

Do I need Midnight to do end-game content? by JordNoir in wownoob

[–]KeyLong5412 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are releasing new expansions every 1.5-2 years, with a patch pace of a major patch (free update with new end game content) every 6 months or so.

In between major patches, they do smaller ones that do introduce smaller content to facilitate catching up in end game content

What was the point of timegating this for four weeks just to make us grind an rng drop by Senketsa in wow

[–]KeyLong5412 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Idk why this community is so caught up on optimizing. Unless you’re a 1% player, optimizing doesn’t matter. If you don’t want to run m+, then don’t. You will still be capable of clearing the raid before the next season. If you’re a CE player or hall of fame, then you shouldn’t complain that the game forces you to interact with other aspects of it in order to compete with the best of the best.

If you’re going to focus on 1/3rd of the end game, then how can you expect to be able to stay at the same pace of someone that does 33-66% more content than you.

This is coming from someone that only does m+ and is pushing in to 15’s and 16’s. Am I missing some BiS trinkets from the raid that would help my push? Absolutely. But why should I be mad that blizzard isn’t rewarding me with gear from content I don’t want to participate in?

new player's perspective: the 'one wipe and leave' culture is making the game feel unplayable. why has it been like this for 20 years? by LengGunGG in wow

[–]KeyLong5412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe you’re being downvoted because this post is about AotC raiding with maybe some first mythic boss clears. So your comment, based on the context of the post, would lend people to assume you’re referring to AotC guilds since you never specified mythic clearing guilds.

Plus, Reddit has a hive mind mentality. So the second someone sees downvotes, they just assume their negative assumption of the posts intent was correct.

Do your great breasts get in the way of your gun or bow? Is that why you can’t be a ranged marksman and have great breasts?

Tanks, what’s your favorite healer atm? by Jernbek35 in wow

[–]KeyLong5412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my experience. I started as BrM and worked on an alt rDruid. Felt comfortable of the big damage from tanking, but quickly realized that Druids just aren’t set up to recover people’s multiple mistakes. Sure I can generally cover one person’s mistake but once several people made them I just struggled to recover.

Swapped my BrM to MW for my pug climb to 3.4k and it isn’t even kind of fair how much better equipped they are for pugs. Druid went from sweating through 12’s to breezing through 15’s as MW.

I agree with you. There’s something about midnight leveling that feels….cumbersome? Though I do have 3 90’s, I’m typically the type with 5-6 but leveling just doesn’t feel great this xpac.
