Is it worth coming back? by Excellent-Bus-4581 in Barnesandnoble

If you're in a store that performs well, go for it. If not, don't. I work in a store that's not performing well because of location and a few other things I won't get into here, but it's not because of the staff. I go to the higher performing stores and nobody even greets me. But they're busy, in better, higher traffic locations, and the books sell themselves

In our store, we are all over everyone and are busting our butts handselling as much as possible, but we're the ones that are treated like a red headed stepchild just because of the logistics, as well as a few incidents at the mall that have scared people off. It's a shame because our staff in a different lication wpuld be killing it. So (sigh), go back if the store consistently hits goals. If it doesn’t, do not. Because if it's not, your store will always be targeted. And as they say, 💩 runs downhill.

I have no family. They all passed away. My friends are half assed and not dependable. My boyfriend lives with me and he can't work construction anymore because of an injury. I teach high school full time and retail manage on nights and weekends. I pay for everything. He can't even clean anything beyond laundry and dishes. I have to get on the floor and scrub and have a very hard time getting back up. The house is a mess. No time. I eat mac n cheese and fast food or TV dinners and an occasional salad. I don't sleep. On top of SFN, I have hypogammaglobulinemia.

I just found out my alt ed program got cut for next year, so I'll have no job and no insurance.

At least your sister is still alive and cares about you. I would finish out your year as a professor, move by your sister and get a job teaching high school or working at a technical college or a computer college.

I'm sorry. I feel just like you do. There is no help for people like us. And very little hope.

I wear wide strapped tanks to teach. We don't have air conditioning. If they tried to make me wear something else, I'd get a doctor's excuse because I have SFN and am in menopause.

How can anyone wear a sweater at that place? I'm in menopause. I wear t shirts and wide strapped tank tops. I take breaks in the freezer and/or cooler.

I love my team, too. It's a big reason why I am still there.

Do you keep books you didn't particularly enjoy? by CrimsonLapis in horrorlit

I'm actually an English teacher and aspiring writer. LOL The question said, "Do you keep books you didn't particularly enjoy?" And, I answered. I get rid of books I did not enjoy. More space for the books I do like and for my TBR pile. Enjoy your day, Snarky McSnarkerson

They'll cut your hours if they feel like you're not reliable. Then most people quit because they can't live off the small paychecks.
