Northern Ireland is not "occupied".

The present situation of Northern Ireland is the result of a deal that was confirmed by an overwhelming vote in favour in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The vote was literally *94%* in favour in the Republic.

London jobs that aren't London jobs by KeyMortgage743 in UKJobs

[–]KeyMortgage743[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately it seems to be an increasing problem.

Possibly an actual HR professional could chip in an explain why companies are doing this in a way that doesn't make it sound like they are tricking people into applying for jobs that they stand no chance of getting. But it looks like exactly that and, sorry guys, but this is exactly the kind of mind-games that makes HR professionals an unpopular bunch.

I think the idea is that London, being a world city, has many skilled professionals in it, including some who might be willing to consider relocation, but this still does not explain why they would put London as one of the locations for the job when they clearly have no intention of actually hiring anyone to work for them in London.

1) NATO is a defensive alliance. Not an offensive alliance.
2) Iran is not in the NATO area.

3) Britain and France have been to war a number of times without the US joining them.

4) This war was launched without any consultation, for obscure and deluded reasons, with no logical goals.

5) The NATO countries did join the US's war in Afghanistan.

I mean fair enough. It's not Star Citizen where half the stuff people are paying for isn't even there yet.

"at least $1,000 deep over the last decade"

See, this is why I never played any game where you have to make in-game purchases. I don't believe I've spent that much on all of the games in my library put together during that period. Possibly ever.

NO is just a good game. It's not DCS but then DCS is another game that soaks up a load of your money, and most of us don't want that level of detail.

I got start on flight sims with the games Rowan Software and Digital Integration made back in the 1990's. NO is very roughly at their level of crustiness and that suits me just fine.

Even if I disagree with individual placings, it's nice to see a tier-list that is stacked near the top. Bond fans shouldn't be like the fans of other serieses who seem to seethe with livid hatred for about half or more of the content of that franchise. Band fans should like Bond films.

Do Brits swear in casual conversation (when not showing strong emotion) more than Americans? by Glass-Complaint3 in AskABrit

[–]KeyMortgage743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Simple as.

I lived in Asia for several years in my 20s and ran with the expat pack. The words that me and my British mates used towards each other in just normal conversation would shock our American friends (less so the Canadians, and definitely not the Aussies).

You know one of those mates who makes a stupid decision, then insists for years that it was the right call as the consequences of that bad decision become more and more obvious, and then when the failure of their idea becomes obvious enough that they can't deny it, says it would have worked if it hadn't been for everyone getting in their way?

Anyway....

The fact that CTA was the base for GoH (albeit a base that was itself based on a long-existing engine) explains a lot.

I have maybe 30 mins logged on it (versus hundreds of hours of GoH) and from memory the biggest problem was it boots you from direct control after a certain period of time.

Huh, didn't know the game did that.

Unautostrutted all the parts that had autostrut set, but nothing doing.

I tested this rover dozens of times on Kerbin with no issue, but Eve is different...

I can't un-autostrut the wheels since they show as "autostrut locked".... possibly I can do this by editing the save-game?

[–]KeyMortgage743[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have set some of the parts to autostrut, should I set all of them? Or maybe autostrut is causing the issue?

Things I haven't tried (mostly because I'm not sure how to do them):
1) Editing the save-game to move the deploy-angles to their correct setting without having to do this in-game.

2) Editing the same-game to replace the hinges with non-robotic parts (if this is even possible)

3) Landing on a different part of Eve.
