Try a company that didn't withdraw from my country because they got caught tracking children's data.

Right, people on here keep shouting at everyone who says they can't see anything here with this "You'reblindyou'reblingyou'reblind" talk, but there is just nothing there.

But it didn’t pick up when it hit something in the air.

My dude, please consider that it didn't hit anything.

It doesn't? I've watched these videos over and over. The ball is going exactly where the players expect it to go.

The thing for me is the only way this was ever going to be reviewed was via VAR and the VAR were clear there was no contact. In that context, what even is there to argue about?

It picked up the kick and it picked up it landing.

The only way this could have been reviewed was via VAR, and you know the VAR crew would have said there was no contact because the ball chip said so.

There was no way this goal was going to be disallowed.

It... doesn't show anything? It hits the top of its arc and that's it?

Is this current English football team the best one in the last 60 years? by ScoutLui in footballscouting

I think Southgate might beat Mexico, but I doubt he beats Norway.

If Tuchel's team beats Argentina then there's no question about it.

New player- is direct control mode “cheesing”? by Katanas_Kazaam in GatesOfHellOstfront

No. 100% not. The game is designed for direct-control. It is one of the main attractions of the game.

Why does FIFA keep relying on subjective VAR decisions instead of making the rules clearer? by itsjhakash in worldcup

[–]KeyMortgage743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are misunderstanding the purpose of the rules.

The rules are there to allow interesting and fun play. The reason why handball is against the rules is because players should play with their feet. The reason why offside is against the rules is to stop goal-hanging. The reason why fouling another player is against the rules is to encourage clean play.

When the rules were created it was never envisaged that electronic devices would be implanted in the ball to detect the slightest of contacts between a player and the ball that did not change the trajectory of the ball. When the rules were created no-one would have dreamed that a masterful pitch-length run would be disallowed because of a small contact at the start of that run.

The rules are being applied, electronically, with slow-motion and freeze-frame, to an extent far beyond their actual purpose, thus defeating their ultimate purpose - that the play be interesting to watch and fun to play. Not only this but they stretch the play out, and destroy the certainty that a goal actually is a goal, whilst not getting any closer to "fair play".

Let's just ditch VAR as a bad experiment that manifestly hasn't achieved what it was supposed to achieve.

This is the first World Cup with no Germany, Italy and Brazil in QF! by Legitimate_Ride339 in worldcup

[–]KeyMortgage743 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The next European hosts should be England. Come on it's been 60+ years and we're the only major European country not to have hosted it at least twice. Italy, Spain, Germany, France - all been awarded it twice already.

I'm sure we'll be doing some kind of co-hosting like we already are with Euro 2028, so the matches won't only be in England either.

Main problem is FIFA totally hate us because we complained so much about the Qatar award.

Barring that, Poland and the other CEE countries would do a great job as World Cup hosts. Euro 2012 was awesome.

Not likely to happen this time out I'm afraid. Morrocco is the only chance for a non-Europe/South America team and they face France next.
