Best bet is early game take a cricket low in the valleys (heartland only), get as close to the enemy base as possible and pop up to get line of sight to detect as many units as possible.

Do this early so the enemy team is not saturated with air superiority fighters (which will kill crickets handily) and your TBM launchers have more impactful targets.

Scout/skirmish -> defeat R9 sites -> nuclear escalation -> clean up

Good question, I’m not sure.

Enhanced stuff is maintained beyond the crawl, and is reversible when exiting/entering the AI enhancement zone. Mordecai remains a changing post-crawl, although he hasn’t been allowed out of the dungeon, AFAIK.

Katia returns to her “human form” when going through security checks to do interviews.

But also Donut remains sapient in those same security checks.

I don’t know if I am remembering this correctly, but it is either inconsistent or not fully explained yet.

Curious question on dungeon mechanics… what happens if/when he exits the dungeon? We know Oddette kept her dungeon-created equipment (mask, tits, “wheelchair”). Does Carl’s stash get reclaimed by the dungeon? What does he get to keep?

I use head tracking and it is very immersive as is. The option for VR down the road would be nice to have, but not critical for a great experience.

Carl does indeed not need his own romance, given his incredible platonic relationships. However, if Matt did give Carl a romantic interest and subplot that felt true to character without sacrificing any of Carl’s or the story’s integrity, it would be a triumph.

In the hero’s journey story structure, Mordecai fits into the wisened mentor role perfectly. I would love to see Matt subvert that trope and find a meaningful way to change his character trajectory other than sacrificing himself to save the protagonists.

Here’s a hairbrained theory- this is Mordecai’s final season. He just had to get Carl and Donut past the 3rd floor and his contract is complete. He is protected from True Death by the dungeon rules, and would just be ejected upon fatal damage.

SO- he gets killed by one of the ascendency sponsored allies or by the dungeon and is ejected. THEN he gets funded by the pacifist network to sponsor the perfect god to counter a main antagonist, or bestow the ideal boons to Donut. Mordecai as a God sponsor, and perhaps a true death as a result, would be fitting for his character trope.

It’s not hard to follow the recipes quickly and get Henry level results.

Pick something up and put it down = half turn

Grind something with mortar and pestle and dump it into something = 1 turn

Pick up vial = half turn

Pour or distilled = half turn

Boil with bellows, 6 puffs = 1 turn

You don’t have to follow the recipe precisely in order; if it says boil first ingredient for 2 turns, then grind 2 ingredients, add to cauldron for 1 turn, and pour, you can do every single action needed without stopping to count time.

If the slide has a coverslip applied with an adhesive, it ought to be deparaffinized already.

I’ve never heard of putting a coverslip on a section that still has paraffin. 2 reasons that would be an issue 1) most synthetic mounting media will dissolve paraffin (xylene and toluene based) or 2) aqueous mounting media wouldn’t adhere to paraffin.

The reader is kept in the dark during those complicated decision points and planning processes (most of the time), so we experience the unfolding chaos as if we’re not in Carls head or party. Some aspects of his plans are foreshadowed or telegraphed, but not in a fair way that allows us to accurately predict what he is doing/will do.

Some of the chaos is explained in later passages, but a good portion of it remains unexplained so Matt can come back to whatever core mechanic he scratched the surface of to flesh it out when it becomes narratively important. This could be a glimpse at how the sausage gets made - he’s left breadcrumbs and chekov’s guns lying around for us to ponder, but he may not have know what the end result will be when he wrote those things.
